So, This is my first full season supporting only the Crew and really getting into the MLS. I have bought into a 4 game pack and loved my first experience at Crew Stadium. However, I was closer to the visitors section than the Crew's groups and heard no chanting/singing/etc.
I just got the email for Everton tix and want to get in a section with some passionate fans and have more fuller experience than I did and the Fire game.
I've skimmed the webistes for the V-Army and Legion 04, appears that the Legion 04 site hasn't been updated since the beginning of the 05 season.
What I'm getting at is where/what are the best areas to be?
I'll prolly have season tickets next year and spend a small fortune in gas, but its worth it for good footie.
TIA

If you skimmed the sites, wouldn't you already know what section to be in?

Yeah, we (Legion) haven't updated the site in quite a while. Don't be discouraged though, we are as active as ever at the Crew games and are chanting right along with V-Army for 90 minutes. If you go to Crew games, you'll see several Legion banners each match. There will be one in Cleveland this Friday as well for the United States v. Venezuela match. If you are new to the supporters scene in Columbus...here's how it rolls.
Groups
The Northenders (Umbrella Name)
V-Army (Founded back in 2000, averages around 30 or so per game, it fluctuates)
Legion 04 (Founded in 2004 by me and a few others, we average around 10-15 per game and are more high school/younger generation oriented)
Independents (Basically everyone else who stands and chants, but doesn't identify with either V-Army or Legion, this is growing steadily larger each match)
There used to be some strife between the groups, but that has been worked out. I don't know if there are still any rumours floating around, but there are absolutely no problems between Legion and V-Army. I don't even distinguish between groups anymore. We simply hang up our individual group banners next to each other and stand as one massive group in Section 137. There was a project in the works to make a massive "Northenders" banner, but I don't know what the word on that is.

We are trying to start organizing those of us Tunnelers over in 134 too. We are currently bannering as Fort Knox, at least until I get my "Seb's Soldiers" banner made, and then we will hang both, lol! I think the whole Northend should be organized into one mass group.
Funny story - last Saturday there were 2 DC fans in our row, they left right before halftime and didn't come back, they must have realized they could not have picked a worse section of the stadium to sit in, LOL... well, maybe 137, but hell 134 is close enough!

what's so great with 134? Sit in 137. Then it looks like we have a bigger supporters group. Lol. Everyone in 137 can't even get into a single mass instead you have a group on the top left and then a group farther down which usually is connected to the other group at the center by one person.
I was in 137 as a independent. It was cool.

I personally guarantee you seats in the third row of 137. All of 137 is general admission. The third row is usually the dead zone between the drums and flags (V-Army and Legion members) and Melissa and her friends in the first row. You will be helping us bridge the gap.

Jefbal99, you can get discount tickets if you come to the V-Army tailgate before the game. Instead of the normal $14, you can get tickets from us for $10. Don't purchase ahead of time. The tailgate is located in a little patch of trees south of the stadium (it's easy to spot, it's the only little cluster of trees in the parking lot). Just walk around and introduce yourself, it's an open tailgate and ask for the tickets, someone will have them, they always do.
Bring a friend too! I guarantee you that it will be a fun experience, it's like a party for 90 minutes. There's a lot of different personalities too in 137, it's fun to get around and meet people.
