Found this article earlier this morning.

While it mentions the usual young hopefuls like Rooney, Messi, and Fabregas, the article also briefly includes two Ghanians: 20-year-old Asamoah Gyan and 19-year old Prince Tagoe.

I hope they don't prove to be the Beasley and Donovan of this cup... but who knows. Are either of them in the running to start in front of their high-profile mids?

On a related note, I found it interesting (from the official WC site) that De Rossi is the youngest Italian in the cup at age 22, starting keeper Petr Cech and reserve mid Plasil are the youngest at age 23 on an aging Czech team, and of course we boast the 22-year old Johnson and (by June) 23-year olds Convey and Dempsey.

I just hope that we go into the Ghana game aware of these wide-eyed youth players... we will probably need a result at this point and don't want to be at the tail end of a US-Portugal 02 type of match.
