What?? I don't think you were watching the right channel, Humala came in walking:eek: and 20 min late. He was screaming towards the end when he was trying to make a point and he was getting tongue twisted all the time. In the aftermath they said that Toledo should be celebrating 'cause Humala had the worst showing of recent "outsiders" (Fuji, Toledo) and made him look like Joel Osteen:D

I see Alan working the Al Gore charm. He comes off too smart (and smug) for his own good. People related to dummy Bush and we shall see if Peruvians will be dummies. Not a choice I'd be willing to make, but I respect the democratic process.
I was in favor of Alan's position on Montesinos and the work that the judicial branch has to follow. But, to leave no doubt, Ollanta had to say that he 'wouldn't allow Montesinos to go free'. The dirt is going fly and only get worse. Alan played Ollanta on that topic.

Alan won the debate. Ollanta doesn't have a thing on Alan. Ollanta was a cachaco (soldier) while Alan is a profesional that studied on many universities including some in Europe.:) Ollanta just tried to attack Alan. Alan is way more intelligent than Ollanta and Alan knows a whole lot more about politics. Alan should be the president

I won't follow blindly. Show me where it says in any constitution that to be President you have to be educated and know how to play politics? In fact, I believe these are not qualities in Alan's favor. Putting down a man for being a soldier is wrong.

LOL, yeah maybe not a Peruvian President. Why are you so pro-ollanta?

I am?
I am just pointing out that Alan is smug, nothing new to report there.
I also said I respect the process, thus the vote I hope will declare the winner.
Either way, Peru will not leave the face of the earth and probably be 3rd world for decades to come. I wish I could do something, but I don't put forth 100% effort in my personal life and spend too much time here on bigsoccer.
So, no matter what, we citizens have the obligation to support ourselves and find happiness in the cracks.

You spend too much time on bigsoccer? No get out. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem :D

Alan won, hands down.
The analysts at Cuarto Poder were saying the same thing. But they also said that the outcome was still kinda positive for Ollanta cause he didn't get destroyed by Alan the way people expected him to.
Ollanta was a fuking mess:
-He came 20 minutes late
-He lied about why he was late
-He refused to take down the little flag he put in his podium and made the freakin moderator take it down instead (I almost punched the TV at this)
-He yelled and screamed
-He threatened to throw Alan in jail
-He constantly attacked Alan
He made the whole ordeal into a circus. Extremely low-brow, unprofessional. I wondered for a bit there, is this Peru? Or Congo, or Niger or some other country where order is a completely foreign concept?

No way, Alan is more Clinton and JFK-esque.
He already won the people's heart. In 1985 he received more votes in the first round than anyone in Peruvian history. Everyone was very high on him and thought he was Peru's savior, which is one of the reasons why he's so hated now- he completely dissappointed an entire nation.
Ollanta, on the other hand, is like Pat Buchanan. Radical, loud, aggressive.
