On goals 1 and 4, I have no idea what the goalie was thinking. He sucks!

Gol two was pretty impressive. Won't win any goal of the week honors, but it was nice.

Gol three, I was most impressed with the passing. Pretty nice. Not sure many golies could've done anything about that.

Gol five, just a great play. That's something Mexico would do. Very tactical, flowing soccer. They had Bosnia on thier heels on that one.

What is worrisome about our team is the Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde nature of our recent performances. We looked quite lethargic for the first 20 minutes of this game. And all of a sudden it looked like someone threw a switch. I almost turned the TV off after Bosnia's second goal, thinking that this was going to be an embarrassing day. We can't play like this against Mexico or Portugal (or Angola). If they score 2 goals on us, "it's light out, good night Irene!!"

The positive aspect of this game (other than the score line) was our subs’ impressive play. Most of these subs did not play against Costa Rica (or before that). Madanchi (first goal and assist for 5th goal), Enayati (4th goal and IPL scoring leader for the past 2 years), Khatibi (5th goal) and a couple of other younger players (like Shojaee) are all relatively new comers. Much better than our previous subs.

Our defense is still a huge area of concern.

June 04 - Iran's national football team arrived in Germany on Sunday with hopes of making it past the group stage of the World Cup for the first time.

The squad, coached by Croatian-born Branko Ivankovic, have set up their quarters in the southern German town of Friedrichshafen, near Lake Constance.

After drawing 2-2 with Croatia and a 5-2 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina in warm-up games, the squad is optimistic about their chances at the tournament.
