From ussoccer.com:

"Lewis will re-join the national team in Nashville in advance of the first match of the Send-Off Series against Morocco (May 23, live in ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET) at the Coliseum"

Although he will be playing for his club today (May 21)...

Yes, but probably won't play.

Lewis is expected to join the U.S. team for Tuesday's match against Morocco. He probably won't play, opening a chance for Gibbs or Bocanegra at left back. The U.S. will play Venezuela on Friday in Cleveland and Latvia next Sunday in Hartford, Conn., before departing for Germany.

I imagine he is flying back Monday and will probably sit out Tuesday.

Hopefully he won't be suffering any let-down. He played his heart out today and just didn't get any help from his teammates. I suspect that having a World Cup to look forward to will really help.

Jay DeMerit, winning goal-scorer, defensive stalwart, MOTM, well he's one to keep an eye on now.

Would anyone have a problem if this guy got called in instead of Berhalter if we have a defensive injury? What a story!

I could be wrong, but I don't think he could be called in now if BA did not already have him on the official list submitted to FIFA last Monday.

I didn't think they had to submit the names of alternates but I could be wrong.

Watched the match, and I am now worried about the left back position (his offensive game was solid-to-stellar)...during the few times that Eddie tracked back, he did not look to be World Cup quality to me. While I hope we have a Sanneh/Frankie over-his-head performance by Eddie next month, playing as expected may not be good enough.

I think I know what side Bruckner and Lippi will tell their teams to attack. Lucky DMB is better than average defensively...he will have to play against these 2 teams...Convey's D was lacking vs Germany so perhaps he starts against Ghana.

I agree with you. I thought the alternate list was just for player and fan purposes. I didn't think this list is submitted to FIFA. But, I could be wrong.

But, also BA typically does not do anything that is surprising. So, I think Beerholder would get the call.

I would.

He's under 6 foot. He hasn't been capped.

Demerit has zero national team caps at any level. I would have a problem taking him to Germany.

I agree - but after watching his performance today for Watford, I'd be surprised if we didn't see a lot more of Mr. Demerit between now and 2010.

He had never played in a Championship play-off match before today either and look how that went for him. He appears to be a guy who isn't fazed by anything.

He's an inspirational story and a team can always use one of those.

David Regis was an inspirational story in 1998. Look how well that worked out.

Demerit can be an inspirational story for the 2010 World Cup.

A "Demerit" being an inspiration just doesn't sound right. :)
