I'm not sure where this belongs. Mods feel free to to your work.
I was trying to fit a group stage team for the Official FIFA Fantasy World Cup game. http://en.fifaworldcup.fantasysports.yahoo.com
Now apparently there's no 'price restrictions' so you can pick a team of superstars (once there aren't more than three from one country).
Patriotism aside, seeing the criteria used for scoring, it would seem logical to pick players from dominant teams in the 'easy' groups. Therefore one would expect lots of German players, Portugal players (and Mexicans btw), Brazilians, French, and Spanish
However there's one hiccup. Players from these teams are probably going to have qualification for the second round, if not 6 points, in the bag after two matches. How much chance is there that they will be picked to play the third match or rested? I mean, will Brazil really play Ronaldinho if they've won their first 2 matched and are guaranteed to finish first in the group?
The dilemma is then, should you pick these players assuming they will come up big enough in the first two matches or do you pick players from teams that you trust to come out of harder groups ex England, Argentina, Netherlands Italy, Czech, or from middling teams in the easier groups that are unlikely to dominate proceedings 100% (Poland, Sweden, Croatia, Switzerland, Ukraine) who will more likely play all three?
