I'm sure this has been posted somewhere else previously but I couldn't find it.
I was looking back through the ancient world cups and saw the general progression of the rules involving draws and two legged matches.
When you look at some of the old ways of doing things, the penalty shootout is the lesser of the two or more evils. but I was interested to know how quickly FIFA might change the rules. Couldn't we play golden goal until someone scores? possibly allow 1 more sub for every full half played? surely the game couldn't go on for ever. Would players object to this? would their health become a concern. I'm not a physician so I don't know what happens if you decide to run for 125 minutes but still. it seems like there has to be some other alternative to goalkeepers blindly diving, mainly guess as to which way the shooters going to hit it.
post your thought i'll be lookin forward to reading them. Also any posts that might elude to proposed rule changes.
