Speaking of their American tour, I met the team and management today at the adidas store downtown Manhatten.
Really great guys, all friendly and patient making sure to sign stuff for everyone on line. I finally understand why Scholl is such a fan favorite, the guy is simply a great human being, very funny and just great overall attitude. Brazzo is hillarious, he is obviously the joker on the team, he was wearing a hat with a whole lot of american flags plastered on it.
What really bummed me out whats Deisler and to an extent Makaay. Makaay was obviouslly bummed out because he wasn't picked by van Basten, it really showed although he did smile here and there and was people friendly. Deisler on the other hand never smiled, never looked at any of the fans and just plain and simple looked utterly miserable. I felt so incredibly bad for him that I didn't even want to bother him for a signature......what a giant shame.
On a funnier note, I did yell out to Uli to buy Podolski and he smiled back so who knows :D
Looking forward to the game later on.

It's weird they don't have a training camp in Bonn on their schedule as they did in the past 2 years. Damn.

its probably because they built up a decent fanbase there the past two summers and plan on working on building up bigger fanbases in these places.
on another note im curious to find out how Redbull New York holds up against Bayern. I know the match really has no meaning, but there was an article saying that more fans came to see Bayern at the Adidas store in New York this year than they did last year for AC Milan.

Cool.
By the way, Americans of German ancestry are the majority of European-Americans/Whites. Maybe that has some bearing?

Maybe not, but NYC makes sense for Bayern:
1)Biggest market
2)very close to Europe, concerning the plane ride

Another report from their stay in NYC, I just got back from the friendly against Red Bull New York (who many still call the Metrostars). Final result was 4-2 for NY.
Bayern looked terribly unintersted and fielded a very young team, Makaay played Scholl's position. Mehmet and Jens didn't appear. Liza was the captain and Pizarro and JPG were on top. Claudio scored both of Bayern's goals, one an opportunistic strikers goal and the other a beautiful free kick. NY scored because of an inexperienced and bored defense.
What really ticked me off was the large Peruvian fanbase that didn't seem to care for anything else but Claudio and JPG, much like their appearance at the adidas store yesterday, they cheered for them only and saught their autographs, pretty much ignoring the others. Not cool with me.
Anyways, this was a meaningless charity match from Bayern management. Pretty dull affair although the turnout was better than I expected.

1.This would happen with any fan base no matter where they are from because how often do they get to see their players??? I certainly dont go to Germany a lot
2 . If Bayern themselves dont give a crap about the game why would they start cheering for Bayern
3 Pizarro scored the goals anyway :p so they were cheering for the goal scorer
