Lehmann's brain-fart in the Champions League Final will certainly affect his self-confidence for the WC. If I am Costa Rica, Ecuador or Poland, I am sending my biggest, meanest forward to shove Lehmann around. The guy has a short fuse and who knows what he will do. Unless Klinsman puts back the disgruntled Kahn....but he wont. When was the last time a German NT had some much drama going into a WC??? I cant to hear that Klinsman bitch-slapped Beckenbauer.

Germany is having a bad time with their goalkeeper department.

lol. Without Lehmanns action Arsenal would have lost 4-0 or worse(they wouldnt have even reached the final without him tbh). He will be 100% ready in the world cup. He isnt a 20years old boy who will lose his self confidence just because of one red card.

"Germany is having a bad time with their goalkeeper department"

Germany has 2world class keepers, dunno how this is havin a bad time.

Lehmann has been great this year. Germany NEVER has goalkeeper problems, that's a natural law ;)

Haha, some real Soccer "Expert" detected here :) .
Everyone with a little bit of a clue about soccer knows that both are world class. But i wont discuss with Costa Rica fans about that, since they think they can win this world cup by flaming other teams on soccer forums :)

really? are you the same genious that predicted the 6-0 in the other thread? nobody is saying the CR is gonna win for sure, no one knows, but germany has been acumulating a bunch of bad news lately if you haven't noticed
what do you want tico fans to do? to come here and hope for losing by one goal? German fans can talk about their team and how easily they are gonna win this game. Tico fans can talk about how nice it would be to surprise the world.
On june 9 we'll what happens, for now, we can only talk.

Germany 0
Costa rica 1 Saborio 78th minute

now what kind of troll are you?

Everyone with a little bit of football knowledge knows that all three German goalkeeper are international class. To deny this is just absurd.

@morado. We don't think that we'll beat you 6-0. It's an opening match - and that is always something special. Costa Rica is WAY better than Saudi-Arabia. However, anything apart from a win (may it be 1-0 or whatever) is a surprise. I think we can agree on this.;)

Sure Lehmann and Kahn are considered "world class", but EVERYONE has mental issues to deal with. And please dont tell me about teenagers, because its precisely teenagers who DONT have those issues. They just go out and play. Its veterans who start doubting themselves when they start making bad mental judgements. Lehmann did that throughout his career with Arsenal, until very recently, but now it happened to him again. He admitted himself, he has a short fuse because of the way he has been mis-treated as a goalie in the Premier League. I say kick him in the shins during corner kicks, rattle his cage and let the German drama queens enter!

One of the German's soccer officials said that Lehmann just had a bad luck and he was blaming on the deffenders and that incident won't effect Germany Nat Team run in the world cup at all, and i believe that.

To claim that Germany has a problem on this position is really ridiculous. It’s not exaggerated to say that we could field at least half a dozen great keepers. There are a number of teams at this WC that would be happy to have at least our no 5 or 6.

Lehmann
Kahn
Enke
Weidenfeller
Hildebrand
Rost
Wache
Wiese
Jentzsch
(...)

I’m sure Lehmann has to swallow a lot at the moment, but it’s funny that some people cling to the thought of him losing all his confidence because of a red card.

You're missing the point. With the goalie position depth doesnt matter much. Rarely do goalies get hurt and that's not the point here.

Point is Lehmann had a brain fart in the most important game of his career. This was the biggest blunder of his career and that is why its such a blow to his psyche. Officials and managers can pretend its not, but its BS. Its not just a random red card in a league game. This was the CL final. The biggest stage of world football and he blew it mentally.

In the WC one moment of doubt is all Costa Rica, Ecuador or Poland will need to take advantage of him. Unless he is replaced with Kahn, but that wont happen under Klinsman who's already made up his mind.
