This year , they blamed the referee for actually helping them. At least they were 1-0 up until the 77th min, and still it was the ref's fault !!!
Amazing !!!
Last year , the fact that Gerard performed the most beautiful dive in a Champions League match made no difference, that Milan was disallowed a perfectly legal goal in the first half , and would have gone 4-0 up, wasnt mentioned, the fact that the first goal came from a faul and the linesman raised his flag, but the SPANISH ref, who by the way was also sharing a cup of coffee with Benitez let the game go on !!!
Amazing !
This ref didnt do anything wrong. Barca started attacking full force and there was no way for Arsenal to win !!!
But the english press is simply ridiculous !!!

JUST to cause a lil more controversy .
:D

I wonder why Gerrard "dove" if he had a free run on goal to score. Gattuso took him out from behind, which should have been an automatic red. Ref didn't have the balls to send of Gattuso.

buddy, everyone saw that ref sharing a cup of coffee with Benitez !!
And ok, even if Gerard didnt "dive" , Shevchenko's goal in the first half was perfectly regular. ANyhow, Gerrard has take dives in the past also, i have seen him another 2 - 3 times do it in the Premiership. That was a DIVE !
:D
The problem is that , when an English player does it , its not a dive, if a foreigner does it , they are cheaters and divers, its a big pile of B.S..
Anyhow, its all gone and done with.

The problem is that, why is the English press bashing the ref, Barcelona would have been 1 up if hed have let play on.

Controversy ?!!!!
:D

Don't read the English press then, it's quite simple, it's not aimed at you and to be honest I'm sure they couldn't careless wether you think they're ridiculos or not, as for Milan, they were beaten by the better team so stop crying, get over it and move on, there's nothing more pathetic than an Italian blubbing his eyes out.

as for MILAN , they werent beaten by the better team, dont u forget that buddy!!!
even the 3rd goal that u scored was from the penalty spot !!!
Liverpool can never be as technically good as Milan !!!
Dont kid yourself there, Milan teaches the world how to play football,
Liverpool , its more of a rugby team !
L'pool scored those 3 goals and than closed up shop, but they can never be better than Milan !
anyhow, the only engish press i read are, Loaded and Nuts magazine .

Er, Gerrard was cynically fouled twice by Gattuso...who thought he'd done it sneakily enough to get away with it. He didn't.

And don't forget the Milan handball when it was 1-0. Liverpool could well have had a penalty there to make it 1-1.

Good thing Liverpool had those 45,000 passionate fans in the ground (as opposed to only 15,000 Milan fans) to spur them on and give them hope and inspire them wasn't it? What were YOUR fans doing when it was 3-0? Our fans were belting out 'You'll Never Walk Alone' in defiance. Didn't hear much from your lot.

That's cause UEFA gave more tickets to Liverpool,
Nonetheless, dont forget ,Liverpool will never ever be a better team than Milan !
Even this yea you got knocked out much earlier than us, for Liverpool it was the first final in 20 yrs, for Milan the 2nd in 3 years .
Dont you forget that !
We will always be better, and until we have those 6 CL cups, only Real is better !

Freaking cry babys. Oh Barce is the refs favorite, Oh he gave a red card instead of a goal, Oh Ronnny didn't play good, Oh the ref had a Barce shirt, Oh we got facked because of this and that. Ridiculous.

That's cause UEFA gave more tickets to Liverpool,

Both sides got equal numbers of tickets...around 20,000 each. Milan didn't sell all thiers. Liverpool did........plus 25,000 more managed to get hold of tickets. 45,000 Liverpool fans there. 15,000 Milan.

Nonetheless, dont forget ,Liverpool will never ever be a better team than Milan !

How can you make that statement? You do not know what the future holds. This Milan team isn't a patch on the side of 1989/90. It's not such a big deal to be better than this Milan team. They aren't awesome or anything. Liverpool are capable of being better than Milan in future. Liverpool were better than Milan throughout the whole of the 1970s and 1980s. They might well be better than them again.

Even this yea you got knocked out much earlier than us, for Liverpool it was the first final in 20 yrs, for Milan the 2nd in 3 years .
Dont you forget that !

And don't YOU forget that 6 of those 20 years were void.. so make it 15 years.

Milan went 20 years between 1969 and 1989.

And what do you mean Liverpool got knocked out 'much' earlier? It was only two rounds earlier. Not as if Liverpool didn't qualify from their group. They did. They came top......above Chelsea.

We will always be better, and until we have those 6 CL cups, only Real is better !

Liverpool only have one more CL to win and they will be ABOVE you in the all time rankings. They have won more other European trophies (3 UEFA Cups). If Liverpool didn't miss 6 years of European competition in the mid and late 1980s then Liverpool fur sure would be second only to Real Madrid. It was fortunate for Milan's trophy haul that Liverpool missed 6 years.....4 or 5 of those years when Liverpool were undoubtedly the best and most consistent side in Europe.

There are only 3 clubs who have won 2 European trophies this century. Real Madrid, Porto....and Liverpool.:p

As for European Trophies, well Inter has won th UEFA cup also, but unless u are a midtable side, that doesnt count. As u can see, in Italy when they reffer to Inter's last trophy , people look back at 1989, when they won the last trophy. as for Liverpool maybe they are a midtable side, afterall throught most of the 90's that's what they were. Milan leave those trophies for sides like Parma, Lazio, and once in a while Inter (good sides , but not Milan) ANyhow, 1 thing remmber
you will never be better than us !!!!
Maradona said it right ; "THE ENGLISH HAVE SQUARE FEET!!!"

oh just a lil, history on Milan : this side is better than that of the 90's, they are much more technical ! They are not as physical , but much better mentally , technically and tactically !!! Anyhow , the important part is :
We are still better than L'pool , and we'll always be !!!!

Hmmmmm, that why Liverpoool were European Champions 2005 while Milan WEREN'T!?????

as for Liverpool maybe they are a midtable side,

Er, midtable? They finished 3rd...on 82 points. 1 point behind 2nd.

Maradona said it right ; "THE ENGLISH HAVE SQUARE FEET!!!"

Yeah, and he always tells the truth doesn't he? I well remember at one time his insisted he never touched the ball with his hand in World Cup '86 hahahaha.

oh just a lil, history on Milan : this side is better than that of the 90's,

You lost me right there son. You are an idiot.

Well the English press does moan alot, Printig Refs home addrese and phone number in the paper, English fans sending death threats to refs.
Really poor.

JL commited a profesional foul against Eto'o and was rightfully send off, look at the interviews, Wenger and Henry both agree.

Arsenal fans moaning about Eto'o being offside, well guese what, Eboue dived to get the freekick that led to your goal so shut it. You dont see anyone calling the English side cheat and divers do you ?

If that was the only goal of the game then I'm pretty sure you would.

With regards the sending off - no-one is denying that if the referee gave the free kick he had to send the player off. What people are complaining about is that he could have allowed play to advance for just a couple of seconds (he's even come out and said himself he probably could have done that) and then we could have seen a goal given and 11 vs 11.

As lanman said, if the game had finished 1-0 to Arsenal then we wouldn't hear the end of it. Barcelona won so it was forgotten.

(and arsenal doesnt count as an english team) if they'd won it , they would've been the 2nd french side to win the CL.

What makes this statement all the more bizarre is that Arsenal fielded 3 Frenchmen in Paris. The previous year Milan fielded 4 Brazilians in the final, so by this logic would Milan have become the first Brazilian team to win the Champions League?
