An interesting article, and I don't disagree with much of what it says. There were too many 'odd' results over the last round of the Gambrinus Liga, which affected the final table standings - and European places. The Czech FA needs to sort this out because attendance is dropping, and interest in the league isn't as strong as it once was.
"PRAGUE (Reuters) - Czech soccer officials were forced to fend off a wave of criticism on Tuesday after the end to the league season was tarnished by accusations of foul play.
Eyebrows were raised by commentators after fifth-placed Sparta Prague lost 3-1 to Plzen, who were facing relegation unless they won.
Champions Liberec left out six starters and lost to Mlada Boleslav after two suspect penalty calls that allowed them to win 3-2 and clinch second place and a spot in next season's Champions League.
While there is no definitive proof of wrong-doing, Sparta have already fine
d their players."
