What A Shocker. Dat Was A Disgraceful Performance By One Of The Worst Refs In The World.

That red card pretty much ruined the whole thing for me. Nobody wants to see Arsenal down a man for 70 minutes of a championship match. This was supposed to be such a great game but instead it was tainted by bad calls. Horrible.

yeah, that was a bad final, barcelona are pretty boring, I don't know what people like about them, and they roll around with zero contact despite fouling arsenal like hell, this always gets overlooked.

Barcelona as champion? thats a joke.

Agreed. Barcelona struggled to beat a 10 man team and put on a pretty poor show. 10 man Arsenal more than matched them for most of the game and even created the better chances. In fact, Barcelona really struggled throughout all of the knockout rounds really and were lucky more than once.

I never saw any of this 'beautiful football' from Barcelona once the knockout rounds started. They were the same as any other team who wins it....just 'battling' to win it when all is said and done and had some crucial lucky breaks along the way.

Barca certainly didn't win the Cup in style.

If you grab a guy's ankle outside the box, what is a ref supposed to do? Just a yellow? It's a deliberate, intentional, last man offense.

That said, beating a 10-man team isn't always easy. And the replacement keeper for Arsenal should have stopped one of those goals.

As for Barca's style of play, I got tired of them serving over the top balls down the wings. To me they looked more dangerous when they attacked down main street.

How come no one else seems to have noticed that Eto'o was offsides on the Larsson pass?

EA fails at predicting the right score when simming it. Rip Arse's demise apart, British media!

This from a Chelsea supporter who laughs at such a failed effort. :o

Nobody is more pi$$ed by the Barcelona victory than me right now, but it IS a red and it should've been a goal.

well considering arsenal have been completely lucky the whole way htrough this years champions league i think they got a taste of their own medicine (by the way eboue dived for arsenals free kick so what are you complaining about)

So you wouldnt have sent off Lehmann? Hadnt Lehmman tripped up Etoo you would have watched a 11on11 game so blame Lehmman not the ref.Arsenal's goal came on an nonexistant foul.Eboue should have been sent off and you are making it look like Barça was favored? come on man.

Well, the ref could have waited for the play to develop for one more second and Guily scored. That would be a yellow crad for lehmann. However, I did not see how Arsenal was screwed on that play. Barcelona would have taken a 1-nil lead for that play -- either Etoo scored without lehmann's foul or Guily's goal from the rebound. Arsenal got away with it. They managed to score the first goal. they kept the lead for another 60 minutes. If Etoo's goal was ruled off-side(I did not really, really think so), Arsenal would have stole the victory from Barcelona(because the ref denied the goal from the Lehman play). It was poetic justice when the ref did not see the off-side call claimed by some Arsenal fans.

Arsenal 'lucky' all the way through the tournament? Care to go into detail?

I can point to the luck Barca had when Chelsea had a man sent off. I can point to the luck that Barca had when Benfica had a blatant penalty denied in the first game. I can point to the perfectly legit 'goal' Milan scored against them.

Like almost all teams who win the CL, you have to have some luck along the way somewhere. Barcelona had plenty go their way in this seaon's CL.

LOL @ these noob americans here that say Barcelona is boring (probably judged on this match only). I guess it would be a waste of my time to explain these fools that it can be harder to play against 10 men than 11. Yeah i better just let them be

I'm English, not American.

Barcelona haven't played ANY great football in the CL since the knockout rounds started (including the final) so don't kid yourself that they have. Please, enough with this rubbish myth about their 'beautiful' football. Where was it in the later stages of the CL? I didn't see it.

Do they only manage to play 'beautiful' football against second rate cannon fodder European and La Liga teams?

It was a good game, i tought Arsenal was the best team until Barcelona scored.
About the ref he did a good job, he should had given time to see what Giuly would do, and Lehman was rightly sent off.
He should had given an yellow to Marquez and should had given an yellow to Eboue for diving, curiously after this Campbell scored.

Anyway Ljunberg, Fabregas and Henry were fantastic and had Henry made the second and i think Arsenal would had won.
Barcelona was nervous and only after putting Iniesta on the pitch they changed the game, with the help of the organizer Deco and speddy gonzales Etoo Barcelona won. Ronaldinho was almost non existant.

They were great away to Chelsea and very good away to Milan.

Well, Chelsea were down to 10 men. Away to Milan? Very Good? Er, not from what I saw. I thought the football was pretty poor from both sides. They did just about enough to beat Milan away but no more than that. It was a poor game overall.
