Yellow for lehmann and let the goal stand?

Instead of whining, Henry should concentrate on finding his bottle.

It would have let the game be better than it was.
And yes Henry was right, the ref was a total moron who was overwhelmed by the entire situation and was influenced by "women" rolling around.

By the rules, the ref did what he should have done.
However if he was a good ref, he would have let the goal stand and given Lehman a yellow for the better of the game.

Then again - thats how Arsenal got the free kick to score their goal.
I'm not really sure this is the path that Henry should be taking.
He should look at those two one on ones he mucked up.

I have no idea how he gave a free kick for that. In the first half he effectivly took away 2 goals from Barca.
He was poor for both sides and if Arsenal had won it we would all be talking about that dive and disallowed goal instead of Lehmann being sent off.

Henry I think had a valid point- the ref ended the game as a spectacle by showing a red card and denied Barca a goal in the process. I think the Barca players imitating the ref by waving their hands as though to brandish a card was thorough unsporting and had it not been for some good goalkeeping then Henry would certainly have scored. He didn't bottle anything in the end as his chances were few and far between- ol' Ronaldinho had more time on the ball but didn't do any more than Henry did...

I don't know what Henry has to complain about. I'm sure Barca would have preferred the goal to the red card. You saw what happens when Barca go ahead, you can't get the ball off of them. How is he calling the Barcelona players divers, when the only player I saw dive today was Eboue?

Agreed, waving your hands in the air is the lowest of the low, if your any sort of man you don't try to get your fellow player sent off.

Think about it. First there's a foul, then a goal scored. Once there's a foul, the game is supposed to stop for a free kick. The ref played by the book. You can't give a yellow and allow the goal. That makes no sense.

It's called playing the advantage that Barca clearly had.
The goal should have stood and Lehmann got a yellow.
The ref is a moron and good referees officiate using common sense not to the exact wording of the rules.

Wrong. The ref is supposed to play the advantage if there is one for the fouled team. Goal should have stood and after the play Lehman should have been red carded. Lehman was the last man therefore it's a red card.

He killed it by failing to allow the advantage to develope, blowing his whistle as quick as he did.
he didn't even look to see what was going to happen next, just blew his whistle, which killed everything.
P1ss poor ref alright.

the ref should always try to play an advantage, barca scored, thats a bloody big advanage, give the goal, book the keeper, why kill the game with one call?

I think anyone who follows English football would agree, but you see this all the time in Spain. Asking the ref to show a card is not seen as disgraceful in Spanish football.
