i noticed that our phase 5 board is getting quite full with discussion on the same issue....the dreaded german cookie, sleepers program, etc.

Could we move these issues into this new thread and leave the phase 5 for ticket sightings.

thanks

here is one of the better postings on this topic.

To see every cookie that is received so you can decide whether to accept it or block it:

IE.
Tools menu:Internet Options...Privacy tab and click on Advanced. (But before you click make a note of the setting: High, Medium, whatever, so you can set it back later). In the Advanced Privacy Settings, check "Override automatic cookie handling", set First Party Cookies to Prompt, and uncheck Always allow session cookies.

Firefox.
Tools menu: Options...
Select Privacy, Cookies.
Set Keep Cookies to "ask me every time"

Generally the Akatime cookie arrives quickly, and the session cookie after a delay. If in doubt look at the details (/"more info").

Let's hope they're not planning any site updates before the next Yellow Rush. Currently it's on Version = 2.1.1.040.
If it changes then we might need to work out how to break it again - cookies were pretty much different in Phase 4.

Info on sleepers program as posted by ironduke2010

[QUOTE=ironduke2010]the soccerphile "sleeper" browser thread (also known as "FWC Tickets Notify" broswer)
http://www.soccerphile.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1173
almost all aspects of this browser have been covered in BS or Soccerphile, so please do a little search before asking the questions any new user is sure to have.

Thanks for opening up this thread. Hopefully someone has the solution to my problem. Using sleepers browser I cannot get out of the waiting room no matter what I try. I've deleted cookies in other browsers, I've clicked the Autofix cookie button. Also, when I try to use the resale browser I constantly get the German "Leider..." cookie. I have yet to get a login and I've had the browser running for hours on various occasions using crap games (Iran v Angola) and still no logins. This has been super frustrating since every passing moment is preventing me from getting the tickets I'm after. Please help. Thanks.

you might try v2.3 of the browser (see link in post above). sleeper seems to react quite quickly to FIFA changes or new things he learns about the FIFA site. v2.3 is the second revision since last week.

I'll give it a shot, but my problem was present when other people were using the v 2.2 successfully, that's why I don't think getting v 2.3 will make a difference, but I'll give it a shot. Do I need a new reg key if I get the new version?

no need for a new reg key. just click the .exe file while that second file is there too.

i don't know a lot about the sleeper browser, but somehow managed to get it to work. i know it basically just uses IE to do any browsing. in a nutshell sleepers stuff just tells it where to go, what to look for, what to do if it finds something, and how often to do it.

so, i think your IE setup then has a lot to do with how sleepers browser will work n your machine, especially regarding cookies etc.

also, as has been said in the threads, you should be aware of stuff like firewalls (mcafee, norton etc.) and even antispyware stuff (like spybot) which may kill or block cookies too.

i know there are a lot of posts, but you may just find what you are looking for in the threads either here or at soccerphile.

good luck!

I've been using v.2.3 and can't get past the dreaded german cookie page. I have not been able to get the good cookie, which I believe is my problem. Is there a way to plant this cookie into one's computer? Is it possible to email the cookie from one user to another?

It wouldn't be a bad idea to have detailed instructions/how to's on one page, so that we can have one set of instructions, as opposed to trying to search 100s of posts on 2 websites.

If I'm not mistaken, the following is what needs to be done to get sleeper's program running the best:

1. change cookie settings as described above.
2. go to fifa website (not via sleeper's program) and deny the akatime cookie whenever it pops up. if you get lucky and can get to the login screen, the good cookie will pop up, which you should accept.
3. once you have the good cookie, run sleeper's program. apparently the good cookie is good for 30 minutes. if you get to the login screen via sleeper's program, it should get you past the german cookie page.
4. this is where i'm a bit confused. when i start sleeper's program, it keeps asking me if i want to accept the akatime cookie (because the "ask me everytime" setting is still on). i would think that i still want to deny the akatime cookie. however, i have to do this manually, which slows down the speed of the program. can I tell IE to always block cookies from fifa website at this point? i already have the good cookie, so the only cookie that it is blocking that i care about is the akatime cookie, no? this way, i can run the program automatically, which then runs superfast.
5. don't know next step, as i have yet to get this far, but i assume this is where you enter in your details, payment, etc. and thank the gods that you finally got tix to the croatia matches. I've also read somewhere that you'd be better off using mastercard as payment source rather than visa or AE. any confirmations on that?

Lotta good info. As for the mastercard question. I would definitely go with MC because my 3 attempts using Visa failed, and my 1 attempt at MC worked.

I think it's safe to say that this cookie is one that you don't want to monkey with.

Once you've entered the secure site, and started on the process of buying tickets, this is the cookie that identifies to the server who you are. YOU are the user who has grabbed some resale tickets for Match #31, who has entered their email and password as such-and-such, and has then gone on to add another resale package, etc.

The server has to remember what you're up to, and the cookie lets it know who is doing it. It's an important bit of data, this cookie.

well, more importantly, whatever info is in the cookie is absolutely useless if there is no session on the server connected with that cookie. in fact, the cookie (via md5 encrypted info) likely just links your browser with the active server session. no session? no dice. no matter what you may have on your browser.

Version 2.4 is available and registration has been abandoned due to requests.

Thanks again Sleeper. We really need to get together and do something nice for this guy.

I have just started using Sleeper's browser in the past 24 hours and could really use some help. The notify tool seems to be working fine (I've tetsted in with some of the easy games currently on the site) but I'm not sure about the browser. What should happen if it's all working OK? Since last night, there seems to be a lot of activity but nothing that ever gets anywhere. When I click at the bottom of the browser page, I can see the following three lines repeated endlessly:

In waiting area and trying to get in.
Navigate
Entering waiting area... damn!

This is despite the fact that one of the games I have entered (again, as a test) is #48 - Ukraine V Tunisia. What am I doing wrong?

Also, can anybody tell me whether / how they use the browser in conjunction with notifying and blocking cookies manually (which I have got to work previously)? Or are the two methods incompatible?

my personal experience is don't bother with the notify/block/accepting of cookies with sleepers browser. it knows what to do with all the fifa cookies and is quite effective.

the waiting area thing is normal i think, even with the speed of the sleeper browser. even though games/packages/tickets appear available this is not always the case as we all know. if a game/package is in the midst of being purchased, it will still show as available, but no one other than the person buying it can access it, hence the various errors.

eventually though, if you let the browser work long enough, it will get through. personally, i let the thing log into my FIFA account automatically, that way it gets a foot in the door, starts the session, gets the cookie etc.

Thanks for the help. Having loaded 2.4, entered login details (but notpayment, while I test it on Iran V Angola etc!) and fired it up, I seem to have got past my previous problems and the German cookie stage. The right sort of pages keep flashing on and off. It's still too early for me to say it's working, though. How can you tell when it's on the right track (before you get a ticket login)?

i think the login page is the clincher. i don't really know of a way to make sure other than the right pages flashing on and off. if you see the anti-robot code page, and see the browser get past that page to the "someone was faster than you" page, then you really should get the login when one becomes available.

again, during a yellow phase, you might as well not bother with the resale section (either browse resale or connect resale), and just hit the "single tickets" section once you've chosen games, category and number of tix.

A tip from morg56 on this soccerphile thread:

http://www.soccerphile.com/forums/in...showtopic=1572

To anyone having problems with the german cookie page:

Is your computer clock set correctly?

Mine was a couple of hours ahead - mainly due to using sleepers fix for cookies and waiting room.

After setting it to the correct time i'm able to both log-in direct to CSS and also log-in to buy tickets through the browser!

I can only guess that because the clock was wrong the cookies which were being sent by the log-in page were effectively 'expired' on my computer as soon as they were sent.

Try it!
