Not that anyone with a PC with admit they are proud to own one.
Got a Mac in 98 and have not looked back.
Just curious to see how many soccer fanatics use a Mac vs PC.

You should have made it a poll. I used PCs all my life, including doing IT support for about 10 years until I got laid off (job to India). After doing PC Support at work, the last thing I wanted to do was to fix my computer when i got home. So in 2001 when the PowerBook G4 came out and Mac OS X 10.0 was about to be released, I took the plunge. Haven't looked back since.

In my office, we use both Macs and PCs, and will eventually move to Mac-only, hopefully by the end of this year.

I have a Mac laptop and a PC desktop. Windows crashed on my PC so I've been running Knoppix on it for the past month. One day when I stop being lazy I'll install an OS on it, I just have to decide which one. For work I use Windows.

OK Mac users, we just got a Mac and are still getting used to it.

Question...

How do I get my pictures from iphoto to appear on this "Post"? Not a link to the picture but for the actual image to appear on the post...

First you'll need a place to host them, I use http://www.photobucket.com, there's other places that do the same thing like imageshack.

Next, upload the image from your computer there and there will be text you can copy/paste into your post for the image to show up. It'll look something like

Tiger for my eMac was a definate upgrade from Panther. For whatever reason, I had more problems with Panther than with any other Mac OS. I'm just sorry it took me so long to upgrade.

1 Pismo ibook (500mhz dual usb), bought it 10 Sep 2001. I guess I'll always remember that...
1 Kiva iMac (500mhz slot load cd-rw)
Both are running on Panther at the moment. The OS is holding up okay, so I don't know that there'll be an OS upgrade prior to the equipment upgrade.

I 'm planning a big upgrade to intel macs next year sometime, provided the plastic money substitute cools down enough after the last few months activity.:( I'd rather use my old Mac then this new widowz box I have at work. (Windowz clunks.) I'm planning on dual booting them, after I find a suitable linux distro to use.:p

ditto - and I'm a graphic designer also. what kind of music do you record? I haven't recorded anything in awhile - i used to have a band and use Logic... now it's just every now and then with GarageBand.

I have a PowerBook G4, but I also have a Dell desktop PC at home and an HP workstation PC at work.

I love my Mac, but I don't mind PCs so much.

man...talk about old school. That's the computer I used in elementary school. My dad had what I believe was the first home computer - a Commodore PET. Then we migrated to the Commodore 64, then Commodore 128, then Commodore Amiga. Sometime around then the Macintosh came out (that all-in-one, tiny-screen, with a handle model) and I begged my dad to get one. But he went cheap and got our first IBM PC clone ("custom" made - aka cheap parts, ugly as case) - my first taste of Windows (3.1 I believe it was then).

It was only a year ago that I could finally afford to buy my Mac - after having worked on them at work in past jobs - being a designer and all - and using them in the recording studio with my band.

How's that for a history of computers. Hopefully you haven't fallen asleep on your Mighty Mouse by now (when's the "tail-less" version coming?)
