I bought this guy several seasons ago for a little less than $400k.

Peter Sedstad (13319294)
27 years, weak form, healthy
A controversial person who is temperamental and righteous.
Has inadequate experience and wretched leadership abilities.

Nationality: Sverige
Total Skill Index (TSI): 4 510

Stamina: excellent Goalkeeping: disastrous
Playmaking: wretched Passing: solid
Winger: weak Defending: weak
Scoring: formidable Set Pieces: divine

I've been training scoring and he's gone up from passable to formidable in that time. I originally bought him when I trained keepers and he was too good (at the time) to replace with a trainee, so I kept him.

But now my other trainees are starting to pass him. One is magnificent, another brilliant, another outstanding and I recently bought two 17 year old solids (with solid passing).

So his usefulness is starting to fade. I think he is close to popping to outstanding (should by at least mid-season), so I think I am going to sell him once he does because he's starting to get to the age where he is going to start dropping skill and will be a complete waste of a training spot (since right now he does pop occassionally, which is somewhat useful).

But with these secondaries, I have no idea what he is worth... so how much can I get for him once he becomes an outstanding scorer?

With pricing tanking of late, I'm not sure. Last season, I would have guessed somewhere in the 1.5 to 2.0 MM US$ range, but I would have been guessing.

1.5

the market is so depressing.

he's too old to train. you're losing money just by training him every week. you can get a 17 year old up almost two levels in the time it'll take him to move one.

I remember the "early days" when excellents went for 500k and formids 1M. What's so bad about this guy going for 1.5? Am I missing something?

oh no, thats a fair price for his player...

the market still depresses me. especially when you're selling mag-wc strikers.
