Sunday night on Fox 5's Sports Xtra, Alecko was interviewed for a few minutes on his rocket shot against Toto FC, then Alana Bears of the Mystics was on the set. At the end of the interview, Alecko presented Alana with a birthday cake for her 24th. Alana asked whether Alecko made it, and he said, "yes." I'm not sure if he was being serious, but the cake didn't look like it came from the Safeway.

Is it just me, or is this season WAY better than the last one, now that Esky is back, and kicking tush.
I'm not just talking about the great scores, but the attitude and enthusiasm.
Damn I love DC United.

Yes, it has the fun "attack 'em" vibe of 2004, not the wierd desperation of last season.
I think that this perhaps has inspired a saying for Alecko when he scores his regal, imperious goals....
"let them eat cake".

It was a nice little segment with Alecko. Just the annoyance of hearing THE DC United and THE United over and over...But the replays of Alecko's goals and goal celebration versus Red Bulls**t was worth it...

I saw the Esky interview but turned it off when it was over. I agree with Rev, hearing The United over and over sucked. When will they learn.
