Jesus, I dislike that douchebag. What if the ball bounced off that moron's hat and suppose it when in by way of the bill would that not be illegal?

When I saw the replay, it looked like it was the black dude (what's his name?) who headed it in. Not the douchebag.
Should I get a new prescription?

Nah you're right. ON The Nation, the question still stands, ball hits hat bill does it count?
Arriba San Luis?
Ugh.

I don't know the rules like RDL might, but I would guess that would be a yes.
If there is nothing in the books about this, I'm sure there would be a pow wow soon thereafter.

It wasn't the goalie who put it in. He did celebrate like he was the hero though.

Yeah, the ball didn't even make contact with Calero's head, so I don't know where he got the idea that he scored.
Still, I do wonder about the hat. He was probably the tallest guy on the field (if not at least 2nd place behind Mosqueda), so it shouldn't have been very hard for the ref to figure out the free kick was going his way, making it very likely that the hat would end up playing a role. It didn't, but the possibility was there.
Sucks to lose that way, not because Pachuca played well, or made an interesting play, or had more heart, but because between 20-30 years ago a Colombian couple conceived what would ultimately become a black man too large for a mexican player to cover him in the air. I think a Peter Crouch rule about height limitations needs to come into effect before breakthroughs in genetic engineering ushers in an era of clumsy 7 foot tall strikers trying to make contact with cross after cross for 90 minutes. Or in other words, the US soccer federation's real Project 2010.

about 3 years ago, Calero scored and the same question came up...
apparently, the goal stood and they even said that back in the day, 40s and 50s, many players around the world would wear green beret type hats (boinas) and it was cool.
