Just wanted to give props for having an awesome supporters section and a very vocal stadium crowd. The chanting sounded just like an EPL match.
It was very impressive on television. You guys and Chivas will be doing battle as the most expressive fans. Good for the game.
Looks like Esky is truly back in form. Good for him.

The recap said 18,345.
I'm wondering who the large group was that was up in the upper deck, entirely in section 409 or 410 or so. Didn't see much of anyone else anywhere in the upper deck, but that one small section was fairly full.

It was 18,345 - that is what is in the box score. I thought it looked like MORE than that.

Yeah- you guys were in peak form last night. As the game went along the camera cut over to shots of you more and more. Hope you get to see the replay.

Thanks for the props, but that effort last night was below average. We can do much, much better. Really missed lanky and gocaps last night.

hey doom and gloom is my job :p
I think it was average for this season, better than Dallas, worst than Houston. Next one's Wednesday, that should be good.

I'm really curious about this attendance figure, I thought lower bowl at capacity for soccer was 19,500 or so? So one would think they wouldn't open up the 400s unless they sold out the lower bowl.
As for the crowd, I think it's totally awesome. Each game you see more and more of the "loud side" standing and cheering. Even during the "D-C-United" chant you can see arms in the air everywhere. And the quiet side has really been getting into it.

Second that. Over the years I think there's been a clear steady progression from patchy fanaticos here and there, to random groups of kids, kid's parents, and young adult "ticket groups" that join in on both sides whenever someone starts a song. Many more people know the songs now and like you said, know to put their arms in the air, etc. It's awesome. Makes me want to go more often, so I know it has that effect on others too.
Imagine that in a new stadium and you've got something big happening.

I thought the crowd was pretty rockin' last night. I did, however, notice a distinct lack of smoke from La Norte. I think it was 2 weeks ago they had this absolutely massive one that ended up spreading smoke over almost the whole quiet side. Last night, nothing from L.N. (and only a tiny one from the brava after the 1st goal).

I think they may have opened the upper deck because they had a lot of large groups there - maybe that was the only place left for a group of that size.
Also, I was pretty entertained when the Barra and the SE's started to bounce the stands around the 80th minute. As noted, there were a lot of youth teams in attendance and they were definitely getting into the bouncy stands. From the quietside the view of the fanaticos as well as several thousand jumping kids was impressive.

There were, however, firecrackers at the halftime drum circle.

we never lit smoke every game, it just happened several games in row for no reason.
Althought we're going to Columbus next week and that trip is when supplies get replenished so.. :D
