woah, nelly! ribery gets selected by a hair and all of a sudden everyone sees him scoring all our goals!
he'll likely be in the 16 for mexico, but if he gets more than a taste of the pitch, than raymond will be on his way to throwing our last tuneup matches out the window. he's got his 23, now he needs his 11. if ribery is in his papers for that, then why the hell didn't he start capping him 6 months ago?

I'll bet you a tall 1664 that Ribery gets capped against Mexico! We are talking about Raymundo here. Not calling up Ribery before the final call was his way of being a showman and building up anticipation (i'm not joking here, same thing with the whole Coupet Barthez fiasco). I wouldn't even surprised to see him start!

I think France should win no problem... Probably 3 to 1. Zidane, Henry and Ribery

Ribery a starter against Mexico? maybe. but what i predict will happen is that he'll come on fairly early in the second half and create an assist for Henry. i dont think he'll score in his first game for the A-team.

I say 1-1 or 0-0, i don't think anyone wants to risk themselves before the WC kicks off, it'll probably be a quiet match with not to much attacking, just of ball posession and midfield battle
...now, this is very likely to happen...i think this is the most reasonable post in this thread...but i hope we will come ahead by a goal...by the way, is just a friendly, no big deal even if mexico loses by a big margin...
...zidane is gone, oh well, great player...we will miss him...

I was watching Telemundo this past Sunday, and I saw France vs. Colombia. I didn't get to see the end, but it was 2-1 France, when I had to quit watching. I can't seem to find anything on the internet about this match, so I'm wondering if any of you know how it ended, or was it just some replay of an old game?

That was the Festival International de Toulon - Under 21... Not senior squads... I believe that was the final score.. France plays Holland in the final on Wednesday.. It will be on FSC and FSE.. China plays Portugal for 3rd, also on FSC and FSE..

So China is coming up?
I guess I can expect more bogus reasons as to why Iranians don't qualify for WC's!
Thanks for the info.

Cissé and Trez will be starting against Mexico with Henry on the bench. Barthez will be in goal. The formation is a 4-3-1-2.

http://www.eurosport.fr/football/mondial/2006/sport_sto892810.shtmlSo Barthez has recovered already from his ugly wound at his left calf which have prevented him to climb the Mountain ?
Well, my personal opinion is that Barthez pretended all this because he was scared to play the Pre-WC friendlies. He remembers he has been booed at last game against Slovakia and doesn't want this to start again. Actually, I wouldn't even be surprised if Coupet would have negociated with Domenech about Barthez facing his responsibilities for those friendlies. I would understand that. Not only being #2 but also having to play the friendlies before the real thing would have pissed off anyone.

Coupet > Barthez...
Atleast that's what I thought. Anyways, I see France winning this one easy. :)
