Nueva Chicago is close to promotion in Argentina... Gomito is a TRUE IDOL of el Torrito... My question is how long is his MLS contract??? Because Chicago will want to make some signings if they are promoted, Who better than to bring back gomito......

and a bag of chips. I think they balked at this "non-cash settlement".

Ah yes, that must be the crux of the issues. Obviously the chips would probably be stale by the time they got to Argentina. Then you have the whole bringing food into another country issue, so it's all a big mess. Plus they call Doritos Cooler Ranch flavor Cool American in other countries, and that probably didn't go over too well.

Also, I heard Stokes rejected the transfer thinking that Nueva Chicago was a USL.1 team in Chicago, Illinois.

We'll give them Filameno and throw in Stokes.

How do you say "Sicknote" in Spanish? Maybe he could become Nueva Chicago's annual LBSPA (Lame Brit Soccer Player Acquisition).

This is Gomito's new home, and I don't think he's ready to leave us just yet. Even if Nueva Chicago moves up, that still won't be motivation enough for him to even consider the thought of coming back....

... At this point, I don't think even Filomeno would go back.

Translation:

Gomez is really starting to get used to being locked in my basement. He has forgotten about his life in Argentina and is really taking to being in the US. Last time I asked him about Nueva Chicago, I only had to electroshock him once before he said "Their ventalators are weak and pathetic unlike La Norte, Barra Brava, and Screaming Eagles of DC United! Those are true ventalators!"

Perhaps he is enjoying the paychecks that don't bounce as much as the bouncing stands :D

Word. That's like one of the first things he said to Goff when he was first featured in the Post... The paychecks arrive on time, which is not necessarily the status quo at the smaller clubs in Argentina.

Filo just never panned out here (primarily due to Esky coming back and there just wasnt room on the first team for him and when he did come in [I'm assuming mainly because Walker was injured] he just didnt impress). Now, whether he didnt impress because during the times he came in (generally late game) the team was in a more defensive posture or whatever.

Filo is still a relatively young guy and maybe this move with help reemerge as a player. I hope it works out for him, he seems like a good guy.

Is this a fact?
I'm not doubting just curious why I have not seen it elsewhere.

^^ more speculation than anything. There was a link the other day to some article in a spanish newspaper that stated as such. jackdaniels (who has tended to be right on the money regarding Filo info) seems to think it might have some merit (at least I think he does)

This will be interesting to see if Filo does leave, opening a SI spot. Hmm... another AAA?!?!?
