I was just running through my local Border's Bookstore and what did I see?
A new issue of Striker! A World Cup edition.
Does anyone know if this is a complete resurrection or just a one off?

Well if it is back I better be getting it in the mail. I never got a refund for my subscription. I'm not holding my breath though.

I just got back from Borders and there is in fact a new Striker out. There are two different covers, one with Landon and the other with Ronaldo. There are no subscription cards so this might just be a one off. The magazine is just as good as I remembered it!

YES! Issue 4 of Striker is in my hot little hands! Got it at Barnes & Noble here in Tulsa (which was on the rack with about 5 or 6 OTHER soccer magazines, some of which I had never even heard of. ) I bought the one with Landon on the cover, which states it is "collectible cover 2 of 2."
Articles include:
preview of each WC team by Sam Rubenstein
Wayne Rooney by Ryan Jones (pre injury, out of date already :D )
Thierry Henry by Russ Bengtson
USMNT WC preview by Greg Lalas
Ronaldo by Arash Markazi
Zlatan Ibrahimovic by Marcus Samuelsson
Cristiano Ronaldo by Francisco Tezen
Rafael Marquez by Jake Appleman
Ruud van Nistelrooy by Lang Whitaker himself
Valderrama by Greg Lalas
a pictorial of the Joga Bonita spots
Fan-freakin'-TASTIC!
Everyone go buy an issue... I'm hoping Harris and Lang bring it back for good this time. There is no info in the mag about subscriptions, and the website (www.strikermag.com) hasn't been updated yet, but hopefully that'll change.

I'm betting it's a one off.
In the front, where they have the info about the editor, publisher, writers, etc., at the very bottom is this:
"Striker is published by Harris Publications, Inc., 1115 Broadway, New York, NY 10010. SINGLE COPY PRICE $4.99 IN U.S. AND $5.99 IN CANADA."
I'm assuming if it was coming back, they'd give more info then just the single copy price.
And really, it should either die now or come back with a lot better work in it. I've bought all four off the newstand, but looking through them it's very weak, easy writing. Articles at about two pages, and a LOT of ads. I know, they have to pay for it with the ads, but this World Cup issue is 90 pages, and I'd guess it's 65-70% ads. The World Cup preview itself is extremely weak, with maybe four sentences per nation. You can't truly explain why nation-x will finish in spot-x in the World Cup in four sentences. Why do they pick the USA to finish sixth best? That's a heckuva feat, and no explanation.
If you are going to state you are "America's Ultimate Soccer Magazine", you've got to provide more in-depth articles, and far more coverage of American soccer. Let's face it, the MLS coverage in the first three issues is extremely light. A two page season preview?
All complaints aside, I will continue to buy it if they continue to publish it, just to support us getting a truly class soccer magazine here.

Awful magazine.
Greg Lalas' piece said Clint Mathis' goal against Korea equalized to make it 1-1. Pure crap from a shoddy magazine. Does Striker have editors?
