Welcome! What led you to become a fan of the Royals?
I started liking them when they got Convey and that made 2 americans, and I started to really become a fan when they were dominating the championship. Now its just awesome that there in the epl.

Same here, for a new Reading fan in New Hampshire. I got FSC a year ago and really got interested in the EPL. Needed one team to root for and starting out with Reading just seemed perfect! One of my teammates on the old mens' O-50 team I play on had done the same thing last year with Wigan and had a great time of it.
Now if Reading would just add Gooch I would be a very happy fan.

I've been watching EPL games for several years, but never been able to settle on a favorite team. I have it now! Let's go Reading!
Not only are they huge underdogs, in their first EPL season, they have two Yanks, one of which I used to watch here in DC. It's awesome. I can't wait for the season to start.

Hey. I just started following them midway through the last season, so glad they moved up. I think that the premiership is gonna be a hard challenge though!

I think they'll do better than most people expect. They absolutely dominated the Championship last season and they did not lose any key players. I don't think their goal should be to avoid relegation. They should set their eyes on a UEFA Cup spot. Very possible, I think. They're a better squad than Wigan or West Ham were last season coming into the Premiership, so I think they'll compete for Europe.

I was really impressed by the way they dominated last year. I only got FSC and GolTV just before the World Cup, but I saw their game yesterday and was really impressed. I like their attacking style and their confidence. Plus it is really exciting that this is their first year up in the Prem.

Brand new Reading fan in Houston here. Loved watching the EPL in the past but now have FSC and can watch regularly for the first time so I needed a team. An underdog, with Americans, a team that actually seems to have fans here but without choosing one of the front runners. Perfect.

Welcome! What led you to become a fan of the Royals?
I actually lived down the street from Marcus Hahneman when I was younger. One of my best friends was his next door neighbor and I remember a couple of impromptu soccer games with Marcus and his German cousins. I was 15-16 at the time, and Marcus maybe 4, but even then he wanted to play goalie!

I am a Reading fan from Seattle and it appears I have found a home! I grew up watching Marcus put up all those clean sheets at Seattle Pacific University and win the National Title back in 1993. I am an SPU alumni myself and have followed Marcus since he left SPU for the Seattle Sounders. I am so pumped that Reading is in the EPL and loved watching them come back on Boro. Does anybody know a good place to buy jerseys and other merchandise? I would love to show my support over here in Sea-Town.

I'm sure lots of folks are now or will soon start offering Reading stuff, but there is no place quite like the source:
http://shop.readingfc.co.uk/Index.pasp?
I ordered from them while I was in the states and they were great (stuff is not cheap, that has a lot to do with a weak dollar/strong pound). From Europe, it's very easy, very fast. Took a little while in the states, but couldn't complain.
PS Welcome to all new stateside Reading fans. As anyone who's been will tell you, the Madjeski Stad is well worth a visit if you're in England. Nice place for a game, very easy from Reading (express train from paddington is the fastest way i've found).

My only "link" is that I occationally play pick-up soccer with guys who have either played against or with Bobby Convey on very good youth clubs here in the Philly area.
