I voted Ben's Brigade.

To me, "Bell Breakers" is a little seventh-grade; an off-color name may turn off the team management, who we want to keep a good relationship with.

I like "700", but I'm nervous about picking a name that is basically a reference to another sport. I've sat in the 700 seats for Phillies games, but really I associate it strongly with the Eagles. If you told me there was a fan club called "700," I'd probably assume it was an Eagles fan club. And then there's the whole "700 club" baggage (and trademark issues). To me, there's too much of a crowd around "700" already without us getting in there as well.

Since I thought up the name Bell Breakers, I had to vote for it.

But hey, I have absolutely no problem with Ben's Brigade!

700 just doesn't do it for me sorry.

Hey SoccerPrime, how long will we keep the voting open for? Just curious.

I figured we would leave it up for awhile. At least until the end of next month.

Since July 1 is deadline for the team, that date might make or break our efforts here.

Cool, thanks for the quick reply.

One other question though, I see that in another thread the Bell Breakers name has 3 votes for it where as this thread only shows my 1 vote?

:( Sorry, you cannot change a poll once its started, and you can't import them from a previous poll. Thus I had to start fresh.

However, if you really want everyone who voted before to re-vote, then just PM those that voted. All the voters names appear in the results.

i know people dont like the military reference but I still think Ben's Army was the best suggestion I've heard. Im just not a fan of all the alliteration in the other suggestions.

700 is my first choice.

Bell Breakers would be my second choice.

1) The Devils Own (N.J. Devil is reported to live around the area just east of Glassboro, which of course must be true!)

2) Pine Barrens Brigade (N.J. Pine Barrens is right around the corner)

We can have multiple supporters' groups, of course. Once we see the team name, we can have a better idea of how perhaps to have a related supporters group name.

I said it in a previous thread there'd be two clubs, one for Jersey and one for PA.

Can't we all just get along, together?!

Voted for Ben's Brigade. I'm really excited about MLS coming to Philly and hope they start playing before I graduate from Drexel in the Spring of 2007! Otherwise - I'll have to get into the graduate program and stick around a couple more years!

I like "The Devil's Own," but I also think it's a good idea to have a name that isn't related to the team name or stadium location. Speaking as one of the founding members of the San Jose Earthquakes fan association, the Casbah...

More likely that the groups will be split by supporter style - One decidedly English, one South American influenced.

Whichever one doesn't have the drum will be the one I'm in.

I prefer the more traditional club names..

Philadelphia Athletic FC

Philly FC - then have nickname - brigade, quakers, etc

Please focus a little. This thread is for naming a supporters club not the team.

There are about 20 other threads for that.
