Non-stop swarming football! Through balls, solid defense. Owls fought non-stop. Technically we played well for U12's. Very chuffed. Led all day gave up a late one on a fluke.

I have found two balanced line ups. We just didn't have the ball bounce our way today. They played great. Jacob, MOTM, has never played before and he actually help set up a goal and nearly scored twice himself!

We dominated today. controlled the middle and the back. The goal we gave up hit everything on the field before it finally bounced into the sack. The second goal by Whit(6'1") was from a cross by Nick(4'5") that carried about 20 yds or so and Whit caught it in the air and sent it in! Best goal of the year so far. Victor and Souk, two rookies, played great. Some very good clears by Victor and Souk nearly scored !

*Well, they love to get mentioned in the team meating and they all want to be MOTM. So I, thoughtfully or so I thought, spread it around.
They are after all only 10-12 yrs old... You both should come down and watch them play. I don't give out the MOTM frivolously, all of the kids mentioned deserve it. Some of these guys are dong things they've never done before on the pitch and that is worth a mention. ;)

Game was actually closer than the score shows. LOL. No, really. We had one lad who kept getting in the box and kicking straight to the keeper. Had he gone left or right and/or tried to center the ball we might've won 6-5. He hit 5 shots straight into the keepers belly. :( Andre scored on a corner and the game was tied at the break.

The refs were horrible. One lad on the other team scored a goal but the ball went through a hole in the net and so the AR and the Head Ref, who neither had a good view of it, decided he must have missed and gave us a goal kick. ::) My assistant and I told them "No, It was a goal.". Later, after the game, they were over at the goal tying up the hole. The Head Ref came over and told me I was right. Poor kid. I hate to say anything but the kids deserve credit.

We played one man down for the first 30 minutes and led 1-0 for 20 of those. 2-0 by the break and eventually added two more. They scored very late again on a trash goal and a PK. We actually played better football down a man. Very proud of our kids. ;)

The refs were horrible. 5 horribly blatant trips by the same lad before we finally got one in the box and were awarded a PK. No card issued. 3 minutes later the same kid trips us again outside the box, no card again, but we were awarded an indirect kick.
Second half about midway through the same lad trip us again outside the box and we're awarded a free kick this time and he gets a yellow card. Finally. The coach pulls him out but doesn't tell him what he has done wrong. Mind blowing.
