honestly, i could live with the tie if the other coach hadn't been such an ass. the entire, match which we led until the last qtr, he kept yelling to his team, "these guys aren't any good. ya'll are getting beat by a horrible team..." .
stupid ********ing hillbilly.

my players heard him,my players parents heard him. i had friends on the other fields who heard him and asked me what his problem was.

the irony is i went out of my way not to humiliate his kids. oh well, what can ya' do?

Civility and sportsmanship are out the window. One of the mothers from the opposing team called one of our team moms a "fat ass" and then told my wife to "shut up". She cheered when two of our kids got hurt.

Unbeknownst to both teams was the fact that our league president was there monitoring the match incognito. At the end he warned her and told her that if she couldn't behave she would be banned from the park. And that if anyone else got out of line their next match would be forfeited.



MOTM- Dayton and Mike both played keeper for the first time ever and were perfect in goal. ;)

We had the fortune of winning our first match. Sadly we had to play the hillbilly jackass coach from last weeks U1O match(he has two teams like I do). Needless to say we had words. He began insulting my team again and the refs took my side. They told him he can coach his team however he sees fit within the rules of the league but to keep the derogatory comments to himself.

We played very well for u s.

Played very well. It was hot and the kids absolutely kicked butt. We very easily could have won. We out shot them 3-1 but just couldn't get them to drop.
Weston scored his first goal of the season and of his career for me.
Alexis had two goals and earned LOTM honors!

All the things we have worked on in practice are starting to show.

The opposing coach was very complimentary of our play. ;)

Came out flat and trailed 1-0, then again 2-1. Drew even before the break and then it all fell into place. Good team play starting with the 2nd quarter. From there on they were very near perfect. Their third goal was an own goal, that being the only blemish. IvanIV Jr. bent in a corner!! Other than that it was a great match.

Played as well we could. Defense wouldn't trap to save their lives in the first half. That killed us it was 5-O at the break. It was very hot. We made the trapping adjustment in the second half and that slowed them down.

MTOM - IvanIV Jr and Jordy. Their play in the goal in the second was spectacular. Both stopped several shots and more than one was point blank. IvanIV Jr made a diving save and very nearly got his ribs broken.

We were actually winning 3-0 and I managed to coach the other team back into it. In my defense we have 19 kids and everyone has to play half a match. So I made a few subs to get everyone 40 minutes. One or two kids in spots they weren't ready to play. Came back to bite us. I know now.

That is how I'm looking at it. Like I said, I know now.
They'll not be put on the spot again. It was my mistake, they never quit. I'm proud of them. We'll go over some things today that will help them in the future but I'll not ask them to play anywhere but where they are most comfortable for sure. ;)

Non-stop swarming football! Through balls, solid defense. Owls fought non-stop. Best game so far. Andre knocked his in from about 20 yds out on a free kick. Brilliant!
