We WON 9-3!! Well played match by our side. Lot's of ball movement. Lot's of through balls. One boy who missed last week got to play and he had two goals and one assist. Good defense. We had two rookies score their first ever goals!! One of them got two! His first on a nice run off a good through ball and then he bent a corner in!! A rookie!! My boy got his first goal of the season.

:P On a lighter note we scored an "Own Goal' on a beautiful run. One of our little ADHD guys won the ball at midfield and took off the wrong way and deked it by our keeper for his first tally of the year. :P

WE WON 8-1!! This is a good team I don't have to tinker much. My son got his first two goals of the year. A header on a very well placed cross and a nice blast from about 20 feet out. My little pistola from Guadalajara got 2 more. A new kid who didn't get to play last Saturday, from San Luis, Mexico, also sunk two. He bent one in from about 25 yards on a free kick and slid another by the keeper from about 6 yrds. He won himself a nickname on the free kick, "Senor Beckham".

5-5. I had an assist. Played solid "d" if I do say so myself. Other than the 5 goals given up that is. But I wasn't out there when all 5 were scored. lol...

Drag of the whole night is this: We usually play 11v11. Tonight we had 75 *'s and sunny. Only 17 showed up. So we were forced to play 6v6 with a handful of subs. On a short field of course. Fun was had but when you're looking forward to the full size field, short goals is a drag.

Drat we lost! 3-2. We had a bad call go against us and that cost a tie. My lad hit the equalizer but was ruled offsides. I don't think he was. Other than that we played great and were simply out coached. Good team play. Oh well...
These boys don't quit and I like that.

We won! Beat the best team we've faced so far this season. Even, 0-0, for about 25 minutes but then the flood gates opened and it was 2-0 nil by the half. We finished 8-0. My little hot shot from Guadalajara scored five! And a young lady scored her first one for us. Used a new lad in goal today and he was awesome. The young lady who kept in the first half played well also! Good team play all around.

I kept. We won 4-2. We had a shut out for 60 minutes. I was chuffed. I cannot take any credit my mids and fullbacks played great. We were up 4 nil at the break. Fun was had by all then beer... ;)

We lost 7-5. Out coached. My fault. I put a child in a spot he wasn't capable of playing well and it cost us. Not his fault, all mine. In my defence he said he'd played in goal before so I trusted him. His folks even said he liked to play keeper. But he clearly was out of his element. It has never come up in practice before because we usually play "short goals". But on the bright side we were down 7-2 in the last qtr and just about came back and drew...

We won 4-0! Two of our starters out and we still got the better of them. I had my other son(9 yrs old) as a sub. He played well and almost scored two different times. He had an assist. Sentone in the box to his big brother...gol !! Our defense is so strong I really can't asy enough about them. And two of my less experienced kids played like old pros. Well rounded today for sure.

We won 6-1! Only one sub, but the weather was very nice 73*'s or so. We know most of these kids on the other team and one of them is a good friend of 14 yr old IVanIV. He has been bragging about how they were going to beat us...then he didn't even come to the match!! 14yr old IvanIv had three assist's. And two of my less experienced kids played like old pros. Well rounded today for sure.

We won! 6-3!! Little Smyrna had 2 goals! My little El Salvadorian pistol had another hat trick. My assistant coaches son chipped one in late. Little Smyrna did a fine job in net. The whole team played well. This was without a doubt our best outing yet. Better than last week!! We beat the #1 team!! They were undefeated until today!! I can't wait to practice again Monday.

We drew 2-2. Weather was very nice 76*'s or so. The team we played is the #2 team behind us. They had only lost one game this season and it was to us. Today we came out flat and I had warned the kids that we'd get our hats handed to us if we didn't respect them. We nearly did. We led most of the match and really never got going. A late goal tied it up for them. ;)

Nothing to be ashamed of. They are a fine team. We won't play them again, sadly. SO we need to win out to cap the season. ;)

The team we played today was in second place all by themselves, now we are tied with them.

We won 3-0! We won on some fine team play as well. Our little Mexican sure shot was absent and we won without him. I do believe they had gotten to reliant on him. I feel last week they kept waiting for him to win the game and it cost us.

Our defense absolutely killed them, they only had 3 or 4 shots on goal total. Most of the day any runs they had were broken up before they ever got near the 18. ;)
Sadly only one more match left for both teams...

And they all played their position. No random running around chasing the ball like a bunch of dogs. Our little El Salvadorian pistola had another hat trick. IvanIV jr. scored on a freekick!! We played in our new Smyrna Wednesday F.C. shirts. I'll have to post a pic first chance I get. Absolutely chuffed. We finished with 4 straight wins. Had I not made a coaching mistake 5 weeks ago we might've won 5 in a row. I can't wait for the spring. I'll post season stats in a day or two.

The match was never really in doubt. The Owls played the finest 1st qtr I've ever seen any U10 team play. IvanIV jr. made 6 saves on 6 shots and every time we took the ball into the box we put quality shots on goal. I kid you not when I say that not only were they quality shots they were set up by quality through balls. One or two touches and then a pass to open space and one of the fellows running onto the ball. A beautiful game indeed.

MOTM-Kevin. Played since he was 4 yrs old and finally scored his first ever goals!! 2 of them!! Big thumps from the top of the box!! He is probably going to be most improved at the team banquet. He has lost about 10 lbs and runs and plays his position twice as well as he did last season.

Very proud of the boys to say the least. ;)

Great effort from the Owls today. We took the lead late in the 1st qtr on the pk and then Dayton hit another one about a minute later. 3rd qtr it all fell apart. Our defense couldn't clear the ball to save their lives. Gave up two inside of three minutes of each other.
4th quarter we came out pushing and finally got one to drop with about 2 minutes left.

MOTM - Dayton and Mike. 3 goals.

Team Player of the Match - Kevin. He did everything I asked and didn't complain. Changed position mid qtr twice to help the team. He even took the free kick that got us the PK(hand ball in the box).
