Everyone would love "Goals, Goals, Goals" if it was one or two octaves lower.
I shit you not.

I would like to hear a crowd of 30k+ sing it w/o anything on the speakers - until then how can you judge or compare it to any other song or chant out there? I bet it would sound just fine that way.
When the Maracana has 80k people singing 'Flamengo ate morrer' there is no cheesy trumpets on the sound system - I bet most songs sound horrible presented the way we do it.

when I hear it I think...."make it stop, my ears are bleeding!" it is the corniest song I've ever heard and I feel ashamed having it associated with US Soccer. There, I have said my piece :D

I always thought it was Go Go Go!
This is the ....for the Red, White, and Blue! song right??? If so, that song is embarassing.

I think you nailed it. The song is as corny as hell with the eunuch singing too high over his synthpop. But you get half a stadium singing, nay, I say yelling the same lyrics at a US match, BSers would claim that we've arrived as a soccer nation.

I agree, but it's hard enough getting a whole stadium to even get the U-S-A chant right.
The song in it's current form is just embarassing.

So the problem is not the song per se. It's the people in the stands sitting on their hands. (No rhyme intended.)

Don't worry. It's not as bad as England's official World Cup song!

in the words of ed mcmahon, "you are CORRECT sir".
seriously... kill the music, make it a chant and it's a great thing at games.

There have been many threads on this song over the ages.. Everytime there is a thread I ask the same question.. Does anyone know the lyrics?.. Nobody ever knows.. I guess that itself tells you something...:D

OK, I'll take a stab at 'em. No Googling. Scout's honor.
Goals, goals, goals, for the red, white, and blue
Goals, goals, goals, for the red, white, and blue
Our legs will never tire, Our hearts will see us through
Goals, goals, goals, for the red, white, and blue
Was I close? :o If I was, I should be ashamed of myself.

I don't know if you're close as nobody has ever said "here are the lyrics" but your's sounds like it might be it...;) Maybe there are more verses..
Forget Googling it.. I've tried that .. It only brings you back to Big Soccer..:p
