I hate Houston.

And Abbey Okulaja.

But mostly Houston.

So H-town builds a 3-0 lead by the halftime whistle, and barely hangs on to take all three points at their house.

Fine.

Next time it's on our terms.

Agree on all counts and plus I hate DeRo.

Oh, and I hate Houston too.

The ref really gave this one to Houston. First goal deflected by a player in an offsides position or at the very least obstructing the vision of the goal keeper. Their black player with the dredlocks should have gotten a red for his retaliation of Ruiz for scoring. I mean seriously, that was so Dema. What a thug. They seemed to be able to take down our players freely but he was giving out cards to us like they were candy.

from my point of view dallas has no midfield. we have a lot of talent infront with ruiz, mina, and cooper, but we don't know how to use them. its painfull to watch how the team plays long ball after long ball to a solitary ruiz. we are not taking care of the ball. hopefully when mulrooney comes back and the argentinan is ready to play we can show a better midfield. I love FCD but its sad to see the team playing without an identity, hopefully we get better as the season goes on.

 Serioux (it might help to learn some names), was running into him as Ruiz took the shot. It was a bad tackle, but hardly retaliation, the tackle took place as the ball was going in.

I agree....anyone else think that Valakari and Wilson are basically the same player...? and you don't need both of them on the park...looked like a different team when the leading scorer on the team came in at 3-0 down...

What was with Cooper not starting? Are you kidding me? The guy hustles more than practically anybody on our team? And his presence would have been useful on the field tonight.

Was this a disciplinary thing? I'd almost be relieved to find out that he was out late banging hookers, or getting drunk off his ass and missed the team bus, or anything like that -- something to merit a seat on the bench.

Please tell me the coach didn't just feel it was a "good idea" to bench the team's leading goal scorer for this one...

Seriously, what was that all about?

(And I sooooo hate Houston.)

A little racist comment there I must say. Watch it mate.

Also Ruiz had been getting in Serioux's face the whole game and everybody knows Ruiz plays dirty.

Apparently Colin Clarke is the only one who can't see this, or worse, actually wants it that way. During the broadcast, the commentator seemed puzzled as to why we kept flighting long ball after long ball to Ruiz who is inevitably all alone against two center backs. It's ineffective and it's boring. As you say, it is also a complete waste of the amazing talent we have available at forward.

What really pisses me off is that these tactics are not used because we don't have the players to work the ball through midfield. During the second half when Houston was settled in to defend their 3 goal lead and the 50 yard long ball was not an option, we were completely capable of maintaining possession for stretches and working the ball into the attacking third. It is clearly Clarke who is responsible for this awful style of play that our team is being forced into. No wonder players are disgruntled.

To Simo's credit, at least he was the more active of the two. Effective however is another story. Wilson was a disappointment....again.

As for Cooper coming in, I wasn't surprise at all. The word URGENCY wasn't there for the first 55 or 60 minutes of the game. Cooper inserted that effort on the attack where it was missing in the midfield.

Colins still needs to stablize his tactics and stop flip-flopping his lineup. The chemistry is not there yet nor hasn't been developed (i.e. the defense).

That ref sucked, but he, nor the linesmen, were the reason FCD lost this game. Ruiz had a point blank shot in about the 12' which was saved. If the Dynamo players were shielding Sala, then the first goal should have been disallowed. Either way, if Ruiz does what a what a world class striker does (which is what he feels he is) then we are up 1-0 before the first quarter hour is passed. It should have been a much different game.

As it were, FCD didn't play well for about 60 minutes tonight. When Cooper came in, FCD all of a sudden had life and dang near took a point out of there. I don't understand why CC doesn't play a 4-3-3 with Nunez, Simo/Wilson, ROB.

Or even a 4-4-2 with Mina/Cooper, Nunez, Simo/Wilson, ROB.

I don't know what it is, but for some reason it looks they they are more inspired with Cooper out there.

Calling someone a thug and not naming them and instead using the term "black player with dreadlocks" seems a little questionable. Also what is the Dema thing s'posed to mean?

I don't think it was racist, but it probably could have been worded better...i.e. that guy that took down Ruiz....

Cooper was left out as "the easy option"...."got to play Vanney (does he ever cross the half way line other than for free kicks ?) and Valakari of the old farts club"...so drop the young lad who by the way happens to be the teams leading scorer....CC is just too defensive on the road....got away with it last week....not this week...

to use an ice hockey stat....Cooper is + 5 on a season that is 6 games old....lets drop the guy. makes all the sense in the world.

Are you serious? The Dema reference is obvious. One of the first things that came to my mind as well.

Go away now, seeing as you obviously have lost all credibility.

If you don't know the guys name, wouldn't you say that was a pretty damned good description of him? Black, dreadlocks, only one guy fits the bill.

Don't be a moron.

The dema thing was a flippant remark about a hard tackle that was nothing more. It was a hard tackle made in attempt to save a goal. Both of you are overreacting.

I'm not on the "fire Clarke" bandwagon, mind you. But it's decisions like this that had (some of) us scratching our heads at his "tactical wizardry" last year.

And isn't it ironic to think that he seemed to have turned that impression around a bit this year when he garnered praise for his "excellent substitutions" early in the year -- when he brought on Cooper.

One wonders just how long it will take CC to realise that FCD ALWAYS looks a better team when Cooper, Ruiz and Mina are on the park at the same time...drop Valakari or Wilson....to much of a sameness by far...
