Just wanted to say how pleased I am to see Colchester United being promoted to the Championship today - the first time in the club's history that they have played in the second tier of English football, since they joined the League in 1951.
They've come a long way since they dropped into the Conference at the end of 1989/90 - promoted back into the league in 1991/92, promoted again in 1997/98, and now up into CCC. I love it when small, unfashionable teams get their shot at the (comparative) big time. Very well done indeed.

Just wanted to mention the unusual fate of Hartlepool United too - we beat them in the League 1 playoff final last year. They were relegated to League 2 today. How fortunes change!
