I was just watching this again this week. Not the greatest of goals, but as great a run as you'll ever see. While Cannavaro is winning the ball in and out of the box in the closing moments of th 2006 WC, del Piero is coming back into the box providing cover. As Cannavaro wins the del Piero heads upfield almost 100 yards to slot home the final shot of the tourney.

Maradona scored plenty of amazing goals, but this one illustrated the teamwork. People enjoyed the one scored by Argentina against S&M last summer, but this one was better. The pace of the passes were faster. I happened to be in the stand when Maradona scored this one. I still recalled thinking... if they scored this one, this would be the greatest.

I was impressed by the pass.... it was from the 50 yard line(Those NFL lines actually made this goal more amazing.
