It does not look like there is a 7/13 DCU - Palace game - that is the date that Palace arrives in the USA.

The Coca-Cola Championship league side is currently set to begin its semifinal playoff series with Watford for a chance at the final promotion berth to the English Premier League Saturday. The club will then hold their 2006-2007 pre-season training in the United States, landing in Washington, DC on the 13th of July, 2006 for a three-match tour, which includes an exhibition against the USL First Division Virginia Beach Mariners July 22 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The remaining two matches will be announced at a later date. They will be training in the Annapolis/Baltimore, MD region.

United Soccer Leagues announced Friday that Crystal Palace FC, which recently launched an Academy and Developmental Club in the United States called Crystal Palace FC USA, will launch an expansion Premier Development League team, Crystal Palace Baltimore FC, in 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland. They gotta work the schedule so CPBFC is home when DCU is away.

Thx,

Jay!

CPBFC

That may be the most cumbersome acronym I've ever seen.

A co-worker just informed that Crystal Palace is playing three matches in the mid-atlantic this month.

7/16 vs the C. Palace USA squad, at the US Naval Academy
7/19 vs LA Galaxy, at Richmond VA
7/22 vs Virginia Beach Mariners, at Virginia Beach

Is anyone planning on going to any of the games?

you underestimate the value of seeing Landon rolling his eyes at us :)

I'm not sure what a Crystal Palace is, isn't it the name Superman calls his place?

Um, I believe that's his fortress of solitude...

I thought Landon's fortress of solitude was MLS?

No no no, in order to get a fortress of solitude, you have to be like superman. Clearly, Landy is not... so he does not get a fortress of solitude.

No, his Fortress of Solitude is the National team. He's all alone in his own little world when playing with (or not with) them...

The game at the Academy is actually on the 15th at 7PM according to both the CPFC and CPFC USA sites. They also are not currently showing the game vs. the Mariners. Here is the URL for the US site.

They are charging $22 a ticket for the academy game. I just sent an email to see if tickets can be purchased on game day at the stadium.

Lots of good hype, has hot girlfriend, is nothing more than mild-mannered and average when at his day job, and most likely wears tights .......

No way. It is the LD's forehead. That sucker is huge and there is precious little going on behind it (except telekinetic waves that pass between LD and his sister). Clearly the fortress of solitude.

I actually stand corrected... there is no way MLS could be Landons fortress of solitude. When superman goes there, he recharges and gets his shit together to go kick some ass in the world. That is not the case with Landon.

If anything, MLS is Landons egg but he is becoming an overgrown chickadee that desperately needs to get the hell out of the roost but hes too scared.
