In WE9, I have made the actual World Cup Draw or as close as the game will allow minus the national teams not in the game - ie T&T, Angola, Togo, and Ghana.

You'll notice after Group play there's a serious Round 2 issue. Take the USA for example.....who's in group E. They should be playing either the 1st or 2nd place team from Group F in round 2 (Brazil) but instead play a team from group B (England, Paraguay, Sweden). The same Round 2 inaccuracies are seen across the board in all groups. Konami didn't pair the groups properly.

If someone else has already mentioned this I apologize for the redundancy, but this is a pretty huge technical flaw in the game, making it impossible to play a realistic World Cup.

From the previous version, I think that when you are picking the teams to put into the groups, there is a bracket that shows you what the second round matchups will be. As you pointed out, they are not correct, but you can adjust for that by changing which pod-letter you put each group in. So if USA group is supposed to match with Brazil's group, you might have to put the real group E in Konami's group B, or whatever. Of course the matchups will be right, but the group names wrong, but that's what we have to live with.

That should take care of the second round, but if I remember correctly, they mess up the later rounds as well, as two teams from the same group can meet in the semi-final, but not the final. Just to re-iterate, I am going by WE8

Yeah I've been doing some trial and error to figure out how to match it up... I don't care if the group letters are wrong-- I just want it simulated correctly when I play.

Also, the order of opponents in the first round seems random too... I can't seem to pinpoint what order to put the teams in to correctly order the matches.

If anyone has figured this out, I'd love to know as well... thanks

just play the first round matches as a group tourney and transfer the results to a knockout competition in konami cup.

i figured it out...when you set up the cup...use numbers 1-8 instead of A-H.....then all you have to is look at the bracket and put the teams in the right group number.
