just thought i would drop this one out there and see the comments you guys have about this.
Both European tournaments final are featuring spanish clubs against english clubs. (Barca vs Arsenal and Boro vs Sevilla)
im very interested about what the Italians have to say about this, they used to dominate in Europe.

I dont think it is a great indicator, because next year it could be all english v all italian and the year after it could be all italian v all spanish.
Thats the way it seems to go in Europe at the moment. Every year one of the big three leagues has a poor euopean campaign.
If AC Milan had Villareal in the semi, it probably would of been Italy v Spain in the CL Final. Its the luck of the draw. (im English by the way!)

true, but i meant to add; especially this year as it is a world cup year. And you know how its a "theory" that if your domestic league is very good and your domestic clubs are doing really good, chances are you are going really far in the world cup because you can put together a pretty decent squad.
i was on that mindset when i was putting up this thread.

True. But also, I don't think it is true that Italian teams did worse in Europe than spanish and english sides this season. You can't just look at Barcelona and M'boro and ignore the complete failures by Man United, Osasuna, Everton, etc. Overally, Italian teams compiled a better record in Europe than Spain and England (34 wins, 17 losses, 17 draws).

Unless 75% of that club has foreigners playing for it...
