A long time ago I was drinking a bottle of Labatts Blue. I got about half way through the bottle and I took a swig that tasted like soap. I was sitting outside and it was dark so I took the bottle inside to the light and found about a half inch of what I guess was detergent caked to the bottom of the bottle.

I never looked further into it but I wonder when we recycle bottles if they just wash them or actually melt the glass and remake bottles?

If they just wash them, this one wasn't rinsed very well.

I haven't had another labatts since that day and I'm very careful about checking the quality of beer in bottles.
