Being one of the many who won't get a shot at either, this question has been nagging at the back of my mind for several days now.

Well, what say you?

(The assumption here is that *both* will be comfortable wins, if there is such a thing!)

Also, I'm retarded, because apparently I double-posted starting this thread. Moderators, please feel free to delete the other! (First time starting a thread; won't happen again!)

And yeah, "Suncay" is a typo, not a new day of the week!

I voted for the CL final.

Regardless of the special celebrations regarding the last game ever at Highbury; it's just a regular game, and I've been there.

I was at the first game at new Soldier Field. While the pre-game festivities were great, in the end, it was just a game. (and the Bears got their asses kicked by the Packers, but don't remind me)

I tried to go to the NCAA basketball championship game last year, and it certainly would have been worth the effort, had I seen the game.

great question. i would guess i will be in the minority on this, but i went with the highbury finale.

i've never been there, and it just seems so historic to me.

in contrast to the previous post, to me the place, the surroundings would be such an appeal rather than the match itself. maybe for those who have been there, it's not such an issue.

but imagine if you were a packers fan and you heard they were tearing down lambeau before you ever got there. or a cubs fan and wrigley. or the red sox and fenway.

arsenal will play another champions league final -- or at least there is a chance they will (and hopefully many :) ). but after sunday, nobody will ever see another match at highbury.

I gotta agree, i've already had my "last game" at Highbury, and despite the sentimental attachment, its still just a league game against Wigan. CL Final all the way for me.

I agree with Epi, even though I have been to Highbury. There's something about 93 years of history, memories, talking to people who've been there longer that I've been born (which is longer than Rick! ;) ), and whatnot. There's always a chance we'll get to another CL Final, but there won't be another match at Highbury (supporters' matches at the end of the month not counting).

Highbury.

Quite simply we will be in the CL final again. That doesn't mean it won't be the greatest moment in the history of The Arsenal Football Club if we win the European Cup, and I would prefer to not wait on the issue, but we're too big a club. We'll win it at some time.

But after Sunday, I will never be able to sit in the East Stand to watch a football match. And that makes me very sad.

Highbury. No question. There will be other finals, but no more Highbury.

Beleive it or not I was presented with this same dilemma in real life only 2 days ago. My friend phoned me up and said I could either go to Arsenal V Wigan or The Champions league final. I choose the Champions League final in real life so choose it here as well.

I have been to Highbury a hundred times, and yes I will really miss it and would give pretty much anything right now to go to that game, but in our entire history we have never been to a Champions league final and we have never played Ronaldinho.... and I fancied the trip to Paris.

First off, where is the "I'll take either" box?

Given these (limited) choices, I'll take the CL Final. It's tough, because both mean so much. Highbury has so much history. It will be Dennis Bergkamp's last regular game as an Arsenal player too so it's tough. Ultimately though, it is the last game of a season that has been a little disappointing. We should not have to win to be in 4th; we should have finished that job long ago.

On the other hand, this is our first Champions League Final. There will never be another "first time". Although we as fans always believe that we'll be back next year and the year after, anyone that has ever been in the arena knows that it's rare. Commentators can talk about teams on the rise and the dominance of the young players and other such and even if it is true, there are so many things that can get in the way of ever getting back to the final. Think about it- are we really a better team than two years ago? And that team, that went undefeated in the league, could not make it through to the final. A cup final is a rare thing.

We'll play Wigan again. Realistically, the difficulty of making it to a cup final sways it for me.

Hate ya Skizz. That was gonna be my answer :)

But yeah, there will never be another match at Highbury - unless some kids have an improptu kick-about on the communal gardens.

However having said that, while there WILL be other finals, there will never be another FIRST final..

Tough call. Id say rob a bank and do both.

Christ that'd be weird wouldn't it ? Kicking a ball around on a piece of grass that's just like loads of other communal gardens, but only just happens to be bloody Highbury...WOW

its just one more game at highbury... the champions league final is the world club championship of football (essentially).
no brainer for me.

not on Sunday.
We're the Wessssst side.....

I choose the one that I can get a ticket to and also the one on a weekend when it is easier for me to travel.
