I'll miss them.I've always had a soft spot for Belgium but have no real idea why. Perhaps because in first World Cup I really remember, in '82, they turned over the Argies, hahaha. They were great again in '86, the games against Paraguay and Russia being particularly good with Vercauteren (?) scoring a classic against Paraguay. Great game with England in Italia '90, shame there had to be a loser. Were robbed in last World Cup against bastard Bra-seel when Wilmots (top player!) had a perfectly good goal chalked off for a foul at 0-0. Remember it well cos I had a tenner at 16/1 that he'd be first scorer. Maybe they haven't got an exciting image but I like 'em.

I'm curious to know why Belgium hasn't had the same kind of success as Netherlands. Can any Dutchman or Belgian explain?

I wouldn't miss them now. Belgian football isn't as good as it used to be and they don't have the great individuals like they did from the late 70s to mid 90s.
They performed well in the WC's in 82, 86, 90 and 94 but they haven't had many solid teams since then aside from 2002 when they had players that were either too young or too old.

To me, a dutchie, it's starting to look more and more like Football isn't even the biggest sport in Belgium, but that may also be because right now they've got Tom Boonen, and not so good a football team

I like Belgium, I'd like to see them in this WC.
