So I put tickets up for resale on 1 May because I wanted to shift them before they were shipped to me. But FIFA didn’t get around to putting them up in the ticket shop until today, and I just received emails almost simultaneously informing me first that my tickets had been shipped and second that my tickets had been sold.
So now I have to both eat the shipping charge AND send the tickets back, even though they are blocked from being used to enter the stadium. If they had just posted the tickets for resale when I released them, this would have been avoided, bastards.

Refuse the tickets when DHL delivers them......

that's for the black market my friend:
imagine that you sell those blocked tickets on the black market, the buyer don't know that the tickets are blocked. You've ripped him off then. I guess that's the reason

Yea, I know that. If they knew what they were doing, though, they would have put a hold on shipping them once I put them up for resale. That would have been far too logical, however.

that's true. Can't you go to one of the ticket centers when you're in germany and give them those tickets back?

Now that's an idea. I'll look into that. Thanks. Doesn't help me with the shipping charge, though (well, there go 6 beers I won't be drinking).

AGF - They appear to have done this to everybody who put tickets up for resale on May 1st or later. It wasn't unfortunate timing it was deliberate.
They done it to me as well.
They have held hundreds, or more likely, thousands of tickets for at least a couple of days so they could ship them out and collect extra interest on the time it takes the tickets to be returned.
They will also be be banking on not having to reimburse a percentage of consumers who do not return their tickets as directed.
And they and their partner in crime DHL will collect big time from the extra and unnecessary shiping costs.

Same thing with me - I wanted to desperately revoke the resale of the second pair but the CSS was busy and I couldnt do it in time... thats 50 euros for me to look at the tickets before I spend god knows how much to send it back OH and dont forget if its lost on the way then we are screwed :(

Alright boys. If you can rustle up some pitchforks, I think I've got a couple torches in the garage, we can make a move on Sepp's Castle tonight.
Another thing I love: The tickets for the two games I returned are sent seperately, so I get dinged on the shipping charge twice (not to mention the tickets I'm keeping, those are also sent seperately). Good thinking, guys. You wouldn't want to just stick those in one envelope, would you?

I dislike FIFA as much as you guys but I am not sure they are out to screw everyone on this. I looked at the tickets that I have received and on the bottom right corner there is a date/time stamp. Some of my tickets that I received this week were printed on April 15 which leads me to believe that there is a pretty long lag time between the time they leave the printing facility and get shipped out by DHL. Who knows where they are in the interim (storage?) but they are shipping tens of thousands of tickets so I am not surprised that they are unable to stop your tickets from being shipped (and you being charged) if you put your tickets up for resale after May 1st.

Being reasonable will get you nowhere around here. The fact is that not only does FIFA hate me personally, and indeed soccer fans in general, but FIFA actually hates soccer. In fact, Jim Rose is secretly behind FIFA and the entire ticketing process has been an attempt to undermine soccer’s popularity.
No, I take your point. The thing is, though, that if they can send me notification that my tickets are being shipped, this means that they know where my tickets are and are able not to ship them if they choose not to. Since each applicant has an individualised account (which they went to great lengths to set up), it would have been very easy once I put my tickets up for resale simply to put a hold on shipping them. The problem is that doing so, while not costing them anything, also brings them no benefit. The benefit is entirely for the fans, and as such I’m guessing that it simply never crossed their minds.
So I agree that FIFA is not acting maliciously here; merely negligently.

I agree it would be difficult to stop the shipping process.
However, the question is not when the tickets shipped but why did they hold onto the tickets for two days before releasing them.
I sold a set of tickets in the last phase that were allocated and sold with an hour of being released.
These tickets took 50+ hours to be released and sold. Conveniently that was just as the DHL van was pulling into Bremen airport.

That is indeed inexcusable. On a different note, what are you guys doing about returning the tickets? Mail them or drop them off at the Ticketing Center?

Mail them... thats about 2-3 weeks in advance that our money can come back to us....

I agree with your points.. I mentioned in a post before that how hard would it be to add 2 lines of code into their process that would recognize such events as multiple tickets, etc...

Please consider that a credit of the amount above can only be done when you have returned the tickets mentioned and the 2006 FIFA World Cup (TM) Ticketing Centre (FWCTC) is in possession of them.
The FWCTC is not liable for loss of the tickets in the mail in return. Your tickets have been blocked for entry into the stadium due to the successful resale.
Our address for returning the tickets:
2006 FIFA World Cup (TM) Ticketing Center
Dept. RESALE
60453 Frankfurt am Main
Deutschland
Please send the tickets to the aforementioned address stating the order number ***********.

You know I really wonder how "loyal" postal workers are... if you just read the address you can tell its a world cup ticket. They dont know if its valid or not but if they rip it open then damn we screwed. Putting insurance and tracking on an international package is going to be pretty costly....

Yep. I've had things lost in the mail in Germany before, too (including an airline ticket). FIFA has made us fully liable even though there is no risk to them since the ticket has been blocked, anyway.

Just send it with registered mail or if you are really concerned use DHL :D

I might as well keep one ticket- Its korea vs togo and i believe its togos first ever game in the WC - an unused ticket save it for like 30 years when togo becomes a superpower then I can sell it for millions ... jk ... one can dream... :)
