Do you reckon Wenger will bring Theo into the fold tonight? Wenger said he would get some game time this season. Theo has been injured but is back in training I understand. I really wanna see him play.

I believe Wenger is not likely to play Theo this seasoin as he would have to pay Southampton some bonuses if Theo did play in the Premier league for Arsenal this season.

We were talking about this the other day and agreed it was a very weird way to structure a deal. Is there any *actual* evidence of Southampton getting more money should Theo play first-team football? I feel like it's a dirty rumor more than anything else.

I don't think the exact details of a deal are ever published by the club, but I have heard the rumors as well. It is a weird way to structure the deal, but there are many contracts that have incentives paid to other clubs. His playing in the Prem could be classified under this scenario. Either way, I doubt he will play, mostly due to the fact that Arsenal have to win out to help ensure a 4th place finish. Theo is young and not a regular player in the starting squad.

I don't think he will play at all this season. Where did Wenger say he would?

I believe he was injured in a reserve match the other night as well so I don't think he'll play today.

He won't play. I would assum the "dirty rumour" of the money deal is true. It's quite common for a player to have performance bonus's in his transfer contract to his previous club. If a youngster who signs half way through the season has one saying they have to pay more if he plays that season I wouldn't be surprised.

And I suppose the £12m figure or whatever was supposedly half bonuses and conditionals. So it'd fit with that.

Oh well, looking forward to seeing him next year. I hope he's worth the money.
