Hearts fans celebrated tonight like they've won qualification to the CL proper while in a matter of fact they've only clinched a spot at the 2nd qualifing round which means they'll have to beat two teams to qualify to the groups stage and most chances they won't even pass through to the 3rd QR and even if they would most chances they'll drawn against a 3rd or 4th team from the top 5 national leagues in Europe so what they are so exciting about?

It's still a first, and it looks like the ambition to progress will be met with the financial backing, so it seems to be a big deal to me. That, and the OF aren't split often. I wonder if the blue side of Glasgow thinks it isn't a big deal:rolleyes:

Well said big man, I take back the stick I gave you last week.

As far as the fuss, you've got to be in it to win it.

Hearts have nothing to lose, therefore that will make them dangerous opposition.

Hearts are a good team and Tynecastle has always been a hard place to win!

Don't worry, I won't always be so objective. Hearts have plenty of problems at this stage, but money, ambition, and talent they do have--as well as a 2nd place finish. The others could disappear, but they will always have that.

Hearts will be seeded for the 2nd round, with MyPa and Salzburg some of the better unseeded teams!

And in the 3rd round we could still get Slovan Liberec or Levski Sofia (or Real Madrid, Inter, Liverpool or Ajax!) ... easy! :p

Lol don't know about easy but I think they have a realistic chance of making it to the group stages. 2nd round will be a cake adn Hearts will have no problem disposing of anyone they should could up against. It's the third that will be tricky, its hard to score at Thinecastle so if they can win at home and get an away goal or two then i think could push themselves in. Would be great to see to SPL sides in the CL thats for sure.

It depends on the draw, they could get some nobodies or they could get Real Madrid, Valencia, Inter, Fiorentina, Werder Bremen, Ajax or Marseille.

I hope they draw Man U or Arsenal in the 3rd qualifying round so they can knock them out. :D
