Good afternoon Kim and Chico,

First off, I want to thank both the Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava for their amazing support for DC United. Last year, you all amazed me and won a place in my heart with your support for me after my terrible concussion. Going through post concussion syndrome is something i wouldnt wish on my worst enemy, but you all definitely helped keep my spirits up and itching to get back on the field with your positive messages. Also, the "Esky #11" banner was awesome! It was incredibly humbling. Not surprisingly, I am absolutely blown away by your latest gesture of raising money in honor of my fine and donating it to the Nicole Megaloudis Foundation. The foundation means the world to me, and for you to contribute to something that is so special to me truly is remarkable. I am glad you were able to find the humor in my goal celebration, because I thought it was pretty funny, and I know Nicole would have laughed her butt off as well. Anyways, I just want to pass on my gratitude and thank you from the bottom of my heart. You truly are the greatest fans in MLS, and I am honored to be representing all of you on the field. Best wishes, and I'll see you all
again next Saturday. Thank You.

Alecko Eskandarian

Right, but you can post on BS - lot of thought going into that policy....

Sometimes, you just have to really wonder.

That was very nice of Alecko. It's getting tough to stand out as a class act in an organization full of them.

Has anyone given any thought to making this a regular thing? Matching fines to various players and staff with contributions to charities of their choice? With the default being United for DC?

It'd be kind of a nice smartass way to thumb our noses (and wallets) at MLSHQ.

That's actually a very nice and well-written note. Touching. Esky's a good kid. His parents should be very proud of him.

Both the SE and BB sent $250 apiece. The BB raised more for one of our members who was in a pretty bad auto accident.

Yeah, each group sent in $250. I don't know if anyone sent in an individual contribution.

Paul and I had spoken to Eski in December about doing a charity event with him for the Nicole Foundation (a big event) and that still might happen.

For the past few months I have been planning on joining the Screaming Eagles. We live in California and really have no chance to join you at RFK for any games. We do attend the DC games at the HDC and root for United. We also watch every game on ESPN, HDNet, or Direct Kick. We are with all the SE's in spirit at all of the games.

Reading this thread has finally prompted me to print out an application and send a check for $25 to you for membership for my son and myself. It is a pleasure to support such a wonderful organization that would be so creative and thoughtful to send a donation in Alecko's name for a great charity.

Fantastic! You and your son will each get a nifty welcome back in a few weeks.
