I was really looking forward to see Rooney in this WC but too bad that he got injured.

Other players that I will follow are:

- Messi. I think that he is going to have a great WC if he can keep his temper in check

- Ronaldinho. It is his time to shin and prove that he is the best.

- Henry. Maybe the best in the world right now but can he keep his form with the national team.

- Kaka. Might be the key to Brazil success.

- Nakamura (Japan). Not physical enough to be a world class midfielder, but I like his style.

- Drogba. He might be the best striker in Africa right now.

- Kewell and Viduka. In great form right now. Might be the dark horses of this tournament.

- Ballack. Can he carries his team in front of the home crowd.

-Shevchenko. With Saudi Arabia and Tunisia in that group, he might be the top scorer in this WC.

- Joe Cole. With the absence of Rooney, he will have a bigger role and bigger impact.

-Kuijt (Holland). One of the sleepers in this tournament.

- Deco. Great midfielder. Should be a good team to watch.

-Nedved. Watch out for him and his team.

-Donovan (USA). Great talent, let's go USA.

Who are the players you are going to watch and follow?

Cheers

Just off the top of my head...

Shevchenko (UKR) has the opportunity to really shine, lets see what he does

Messi (ARG) can further prove his immense skills

Cicihno (BRA) I think he'll be the standout for Brasil this year

Ronaldhino (BRA) self explanitory

Tevez (ARG) doing good in the league/CL right now, very clinical striker

Drogba (IVC) hardest group but can prove himself by scoring some goals

Ballack (GER) imo germany's key player, when he plays well germany seems to play well

Toni (ITA) I see him scoring a lot of goals this tournament, great form

Cech (CZE) if he's back in form should be a wall for the czech's

Ronaldo (POR) chance to show off his great ball skills and do something for his country on the big stage

Robben (NED) Same as Ronaldo

my list for now, who else guys?

Zurawski - Poland (Great Season for Celtic, hopefully he can come through for Poland.
Dempsey - Exciting player for US, let's see if he can step up
Smolarek - Poland (Let's see if he can start scoring again like earlier in the year for BVB Dortmund and play like his dad used to)
Ching - For the US if he gets to play
Szymkowiak - Poland (plays in Turke club soccer)

Who's the next Ronaldinho from Brazil? Robinho?

Both of those Polish guys are top notch especially "Magic" Zurawski. Hes a great playmaker and has had a great season at Celtic. Smolarek has just been bangin them in this year but has cooled down as of late. Robinho is the NOT the next Ronny.

Szymkowiak(Poland) - I'm positive that if Poland has a decent WC he'll get transferred to a Top 10 club in Europe, very underrated.

Quaresma(Portugal) - just like watching him, possibly the Ronaldo of Euro?

Really, anyone on Brazil

Schweinsteiger(Germany) - I don't know why, just like him.

You forgot an important one:

Tranquillo Barnetta (Switzerland)

you might not know him :) - but he's one of the most talented swiss players.
Midfileder, age 20, at the moment playing for Bayer Leverkusen. I predict a great soccer future for him!

I would take an eye on Miroslav Klose(Germany)! He will be the "Player of the Year 2006 in Germany", he did 25goals and 16 assists in only 26games in the Bl, he was hurt two times in the season, one time he wasn`t able too play for about a month, the other time he had to be operated in face cause he had a cheek-bone fracture and he had to play with a mask for weeks. But nothings stopped him and now he gettin better and better. In three matches 5goals and 5assists. He got the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga this season...
And he allready has the Silver Boot of the WC2002 in Japan and Korea; there he made five goals.
Onlay to show you, that there are even other very good german players and not only Michael Ballack. He is amazing, of course but it`s not true if you say: When Ballack is fit than Germany will be good and if not Germany will be bad.

Perhaps you should even look for Frings, Schweinsteiger, Podolski and Borowski. And Lehmann, if you saw the last Cl-Games of Arsenal you know what I am talking about. Lets see...:)
