I considered including this in The All Encompassing Bulgaria Thread Part IV, but I believe this merits its own thread.

Few will be surprised to learn that FIDE world champion Veselin Topalov has won the chess Oscar for 2005. 361 chess experts from 68 countries awarded him a total of 4376 points.

Bangkok, Oriental setting
And the city don't know what the city is getting
The creme de la creme of the chess world in a
Show with everything but Yul Brynner

Time flies -- doesn't seem a minute
Since the Tirolean spa had the chess boys in it
All change -- don't you know that when you
Play at this level there's no ordinary venue

It's Iceland -- or the Philippines -- or Hastings -- or --
or this place!
