I received my game #51 ov tickets yesterday and according to the stadium seat plan, I am in the first row of the upper bowl. Looking at the pictures of the stadium, it looks like there are walkways in front of these seats. I imagine this is why they are classified as obstructed view seats. My question is to anyone who has been to this stadium - is there a lot of foot traffic along this walkway during the match? I can't imagine it being too bad, so I was happy to see there probably won't be a major obstruction, but I would just like to hear from someone who may have input into these seats. This may also shed some light on what FIFA considers to be OV tickets

Also, there is a link list so you may be able to find your way into the stuttgart forum and be able to ask the question there ;-)

I was in Stuttgart a couple of years ago for a VfB Stuttgart v Celtic game. I was in the bottom tier, so can’t really answer much about the upper tier…in fact, as I remember it, it was one tier all the way round! But they might have expanded it, either that or it was all the Swaben Brau I’d had in the Schlossplatz earlier that day!

If you are on the upper tier of any football stadium, I’d say it’s very rare to have a walkway in front of the first row. Apart from the foot traffic, you’d also have a path and some sort of barrier that you’d have to stand up to see over.

As I remember it, the sightlines from VfB’s stadium were pretty good even though it had a running track. I’ll try to upload some photos when I get home so that you can see the stadium.

Stuttgart wasn’t the most lively city I’ve been to, but it was very attractive, and the people there were really friendly. Even when we’d knocked VfB out of Europe, their fans all came over and wished us good luck in the next round and wanted to swap scarves etc – that doesn’t happen all the time, believe me!

What Row are your tickets in -- mine are in Row 32 for the Netherlands v. Ivory Coast match (block Ac) I looked on the cool "view from your seats" chart from this link: http://www.gottlieb-daimler-stadion.de/stadion_en.htm but the seats did not look ov at all to me either. perhaps they are the first row on the second level as well? (I'm hopeful they're not behind a big fat camera).

There's only an upper level on one of the touch lines so I'm guessing you there. Otherwise you're just in the upper half of the single bowl around the whole stadium. You'll have a railing in front of you to look through, but I'm pretty sure you elevated from the walkway which will help. Don't know about the World Cup, but German fans tend to stay in their seats during the game; so you'll probably be fine.

Thanks for all the input guys. My seats are in block 20b and in row 1. It looks the pictures on the website there is a gaurdrail there. That doesn't matter to me, I can look through a guard rail in the first row - not bad

maybe this helps a bit to give you a general idea of what viewing will be like, it's from t-mobile.
