Because Barca has the habit of losing at the end? In fact they've won the CL only ones with Stoichkov and Romario in 92. So, what'd you think?

Well, I see your point. Barcelona, like Juventus and Man Utd are underacheivers in the CL/European Cup with regards to actually winning it, compared to the likes of Real Madrid, Milan, Liverpool etc, but it's still 50/50
In my opinion, both sides should be afraid of the other. Both can kill the other with a bit of class by either Henry or Ronaldinho....and others.

I guess this is a new way to post ads on message boards. Do you honestly think the mods won't find all your previous posts and realize what you're doing?

LOL! This is spot on. What a stupid argument. Yeah so Barca has only won it once but Arsenal are in unchartered waters here sunshine. Also, what's it with all this 50-50 cr@p???!!! Barca are clearly the favorites here. Have you looked at the league standings in Spain and England lately? Have you seen either of these teams play? I'm glad for Arsenal - and especially Wenger and Henry for making it this far and finally making the champions league final. Good for them - they deserve and all - but I gotta say Barca look the better all round team. Arsenal's key player many times this season has been their goalkeeper which definitely says something. I'd say it's about 60-40 in Barca's favor.

Er, either they will win...or they will lose.

There is always a first time. This present Arsenal team are in no more 'unchartered' waters than the present Barca team. Neither of these two side have been in the CL final before. It's not like last year when Milan had previous recent experience of a CL final whereas Liverpool didn't......and still lost hehe.:D
Barca are clearly the favorites here. Have you looked at the league standings in Spain and England lately?
The same was said last year with Milan v Liverpool. You do not know much about football if you think football always goes as you 'think' it will. That's the beauty of the game.
Have you seen either of these teams play?
Yes. And Arsenal looked the more impressive out of the two in the last 6 CL knockout games.

The guy who started this thread was talking about the club Barcelona. Not these collection of players. Remember, he wrote: "Because Barca has the habit of losing at the end?" So he's obviously talking about the club since this Barca team has never lost at the end of anything.

He didn't say "always". In fact he said 60-40 for Barca, which is pretty modest actually. Last I checked, bookies have arsenal at about an 11/5 underdog.

Not really. Barca looked more impressive in the semis AND in the round of 16. Arsenal did look more impressive in the quarters though. But you don't actually think beating this year's Real Madrid team is a big-deal do you? :p
Barca are favorites (for whatever that's worth). Except it.

Barcelona's European record is still better than Arsenal. Seriously, Arsenal is probably the last of the big clubs who never won the European Cup/CL.

He doesn't have a point. He's just trolling to gain attention for that website he's advertising. Soon he'll be red-carded.

Arsenal are underachievers in the CL with regards to even coming within an Astronomical Unit of winning it, compared to the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Man Utd who often at least come close to winning.

I am 5'6" 160lbs, let's see if there is a 50% chance of me winning a fight versus a Mike Tyson or Wanderlei Silva (who would kick tyson's ass :D). Your statistics are poo.

Read the 1st post dumby. We are all speaking of the clubs historically.
edit: where are the mods to edit the 1st post and card or ban the guy anyway.

Indeed Barca fans, I was talking about Barcelona in general not THIS Barca. Yeah they are great and if I have to be honest, if those two play 10 games probably Barca will win more than Arsenal, but the final is one game only! Don't forget that. Besides the pressure of Barca is huge, Arsenal won't even be in the CL next season..
So I think its 50/50, but but I tend to think Arsenal will be the luck one. I like Romario and Stoichkov though ;)))

Madrid and Juve were clear favourites.

Did you look at the league standings before the Arsenal/Juve match? I'm not convinced the Spanish league is harder than the Italian league.

Doesn't matter. Barca beat Milan (most consistent team in last 4 years) and Benfica (that beat the defending champs). They also dominate their corresponding league. They score a lot of goals, and have showed that they can play defense just like Arsenal. Doesn't mean Arsenal cannot win, but Barca has a better squad at least on paper than Arsenal. So, the odds favor Barca.

Wow! This thread is a real brain-melter.
Apparently just because upsets can occur, there are no more "favorites" in the footballing world. :p

I am totally confused myself. Or is it that some think Arsenal is a 'favorite' here, and if Barca wins, that'll be an upset to them (well, I understand it will upset them) :D

And if you'll note you'll see I wasn't replying to the original poster. I was replying to astabooty.
What's all this nonsense about Barcelona being there and winning it before? So what? It was back in 1992. So Barcelona has experience of winning ONE European Cup compared to Arsenal's NONE and you guys are carrying on like it's relevant. It was 16 bloody years ago.
You saying that if Liverpool played Barcelona in the final last year it would be important and of relevance because Liverpool as a club had won 4 European Cups compared to Barcelona's 1?
Course it wouldn't.
You guys are talking out of your backsides, excuse me for saying so.

You serious? Neither Arsenal or Barcelona looked 'impressive' in the semis. In fact Milan were unlucky with that 'goal'. Arsenal looked far superior against Juve than Barcelona did against Benfica. Benfica made Barcelona sweat right up until the end and could of and should have scored an equaliser.
Arsenal did look more impressive in the quarters though. But you don't actually think beating this year's Real Madrid team is a big-deal do you?
I would argue that beating Madrid in Madrid is not a bad feat.
Barca are favorites (for whatever that's worth). Except it.
With the bookies. Not with me. Means nothing in a final. Football isn't like that.

Who said Arsenal is a favourite? I didn't. I don't think anybody has said that. It's 50/50 to me. It can go either way. Both sides have as much chance of winning as the other. That's my argument from what I have seen with both sides in the last 6 CL games. Barcelona are certainly not superior to Arsenal in Europe this season based on what I have seen.
I'm just frowing at you latinos. You never learn your lesson. Remember, this same rubbish was said last year with Milan v Liverpool......but who got the cup? LOL.
