I think Switzerland will advance to the next stage: Senderos, Cabanas, Frei are good players, better than the southkoreans and togolese players.
But in the 2nd stage Ukraine or Spain will defeat Switzerland.

I am very confident that Switzerland will advance to the next round.... Their is a reason why the Spanish coach did NOT want to play against the Swiss squad in the group stage. They are one team that' s currently in top form.
How fare wil the Swiss go? Well, the BIG question is who will they play in the 1/16...
If it is Ukraine, Switzerland will have a chance but against Spain it might be too soon for us. To beat Spain we will (probably) have to wait until EURO 2008...
The Swiss players are too motivated and extremely talented players not to qualify to the next round... Switzerland should be the surprise of this World Cup but only if Alexander Frei, Philippe Senderos, Tranquillo Barnetta and Ludovic Magnin don't get injured. (4 players that are irreplaceable)

I'm not quite as confident as Kubi regarding advancement, but I do like our chances. With that said many things can go wrong, and sometimes even playing well doesn't get you out of the group. We'll see what happens...

Korea and Switzerland will both advance. France will not. :D

If France play at their level, they will likely win the group. France's success or failure is mostly on their hands.
Now the way the question is asked there, I'd answer yes. Switzerland may win this group, it's far from the realm of impossibility.

thats true, switzerland have good players, BUT I'll prefer to see young, energetic with a lot of stamina, like the koreans, I can't say anything about Togo because I don't know them, and France is my first choice for this group, and one of my favorites to win this cup
you'll never know...
maybe korea and togo classify for the next step.

Yep, it's hard to Imagine a World Cup second round without France. I mean, it's pretty much never happened. Except in 1990, and 94, and oh yeah, 2002. But other than that it's pretty much death, taxes, and France in the WC round of 16.

Watching Switzerland in the Euro 2004, and Korea in friendlies since 2002, in terms of technical ability they seem to be about the same. 1-1 draw.

Switzerland in 2004 has NOTHING to do with the team we have now. The Swiss squad is much much better without a doubt.

Well, you seem to know a whole lot more about it than I do, so I'll take your word for it.
I just looked down Switzerland's 23 and there are quite a few players on very prestigious teams. Honest Question: Do they play regularly, or are they normally subs? (i know Senderos plays pretty regularly)
