This still stands ... we're over 60 members now ... come check out the section - see what it's like. The more VIers there are - the better the atmosphere is going to be.
It's getting to be quite a nice little family - and we'd like you to be part!!
Don't WAIT for it to grow into the Screaming Eagles or Section 8 - help make it happen!!!

You are aware that both the Screaming Eagles and Section 8 stand?

You are aware that they don't ALL stand - that Section 8 is a collection of different supporters groups.

You know - I've heard from more than a few C-Firmers about their superiority because they stand - they mistakenly feel they are better fans than fans that would rather sit and watch the game.
It annoys the hell out of me.
It's important to realize that there needs to be sections for BOTH kinds of fans - they understand that in Europe http://www.standupsitdown.co.uk/ ...
It's about CHOICE.
Look, you may think the entire stadium in Old Tafford or the Bernabeu stand the entirer game - but you'd be mistaken. Those old men that sit at the midfield aren't less passionate about their team than those behind the nets. In fact, for some teams - those behind the net are less interested in the actual game - than all the extra stuff the supporters bring to the table.
Sam - I'm not saying you think like this - but I've had more than one discussion with C-Firmers about this - and it's just plain shortsighted to me to not recognize that their needs to be two supporters groups. And the attitude that one group are better fans then the other simply angers me to no end.

I was under the impression when Centennial Firm started that it was a supporters group and didn't have any bearing on your location in the stadium. Class VI was originally kind of an unoffical subset of Centennial Firm at the start of the season.
GoRapids is right, there is no reason for the various supporters groups/sections to fight over meaningless questions like, "who is a better fan." Right now it is better for both groups to give unified support to those negotiating with the club on seating in the new stadium to make sure we continue to grow organized support for our club.

It's never really been defined by the C-Firm offically - but the orginal idea has kind of changed.
The C-Firm is the section in 127. The umbrella group kind of never really came to be.

The two groups (and hopefully any others that develop) complement each other. I would encourage anyone looking into seating areas to check out both of the current seating groups, Class VI and C-Firm. At the last match the two groups were cheering and chanting together and I thought it was pretty cool. We don't all have the same idea of how to watch the match, but we do all love our Rapids! I personally love the fact that the sections are in close proximity and raise the energy of our entire quarter of the stadium. This will be even more noticable in our new stadium!
Thanks to everyone involved for developing these fabulous fan sections, I love our Class VI section & the great group of people a couple sections over!

The most interesting thing here is that I wondered at the comparison between Section 8, Screaming Eagles, and Class VI.
If there have been a few modifications to Section 8 since I've seen them, ohh well my bad. However, I have been to mulitple matches in Chicago (at Soldier Field) and at RFK for DC United. Both of those supporter groups were standing and cheering.
Nothing wrong with sitting on your arse, in fact I never made any mention of sitting on your arse. Is there an inner guilt? All that I ask is to compare apples with apples, not apples with road apples. :D Have a wonderful day. (You can hit me at the next match if you want! ;) I'm sorry I didn't catch this before the match on Wednesday as we could have discussed more in person.)

Sam - just a slight clarification. It's true that SE stand. However, they have a section for fans that want to sing, be close to the action, but want to sit. I think it's close to 2 sections away from the barra. SE have more than 500 (close to 600?) members, so they have the ability for different game day experiences.

Backing up to something Bonji said: when C-Firm started, we were not a seating section at all. We were just a social club sort of thing. Then the FO designated 127 the Centennial Firm. Then they apparently designated anyone sitting in that section a member of C-Firm. In our eyes, we are still an umbrella group in that the tailgates, viewing parties, and other events we organize are open to anyone.

Fair enough - didn't mean to compare apples to road apples. But as the above poster mentioned - you're not entirely correct either. And perhaps CVI will evovle into something more than just passionate "sitters" - I'm trying to build on things that people desire and are not presently part of the Rapids games. Believe it or not - there are devote fans that do NOT want to stand all game. Crazy I know.
And I actually stated I wasn't addressing this to you Sammy my boy ... and no inner guilt - I know I'm on the right track - but there are specific C-Firmers that I'm not going to mention that I am talking about (a very small minority - but they rile me up - one person probably knows who he is). And I feel strongly that the two groups need to work together - and that those sentiments need to die quickly. I never stop promoting the C-Firm and will recruit people (and have) if C-Firm fits them more than CVI.
I believe the two groups need to work together more actually.
When I had a meeting with the RFO - I discussed the C-Firm's situation - I've let the CVI people know of the C-Firm situation verbally - and one CVIer wrote a letter defending C-Frim that was mentioned to me in my CVI meeting it was so strongly worded. And I've racked my brain on solutions to the current mess C-Firm is in. And I plan on discussing it with Jeff Plush when I have my meeting with him as well.
We're the worst atmosphere in MLS - and it's got to change.
None of the unmentioned people however run the C-Firm show. Brown Chili and Dan rock. You don't have to like CVI or the C-Firm - or me personally - but you have to stand up for each other - and stop knocking down one group or the other.

Chili - with all due respect - you may feel that way - but the reality sure doesn't feel that way anymore.
The Centenial Firm website claims who you are:
"Passion is the tie that binds us. Whether rain, snow or shine, Wednesday or Saturday, if the Rapids are here you will hear the beat of the drums booming from sec 127. Clad in black and blue we provided the atmosphere for the soccer moms while giving the CSC something to bitch about. Regardless of the Rapids current losing trend or scoreless draws, there will always be the C-Firm chanting and drinking in our corner of the stadia."
And then in another statement you claim you don't need to be in the corner to part of the C-Firm.
It doesn't feel well defined and organized as a blanket group. For example - there is no representative from the CVI - the cabinet consists of four people that sit in 127 - and three of those people are in charge of 127.
When people discuss the Centenial Firm - it's not about all Rapids fans - it's about you guys in 127.
So maybe you WANT C-Firm to be an umbrella group - but the reality says something different. And again, I say this with total respect - an no ill will - but just pointing out the confusion and situation.
