i dont know if you guys knew... but Davino was basically going after the ref after the game for a couple of things

1) insults that were thrown around
2) stoppage time

apparently.. Davino said that the ref called him a f4ggot

Davino is not one to loe his tempo and hardly ever gets into it with the refs...

if the ref did infact start the insults... what do you think the ref should get?

2) stoppage time

I don't know about the insults, but stoppage time!? Red had announced 2 minutes and CA ended up with 3m30sec.

No, el pinche Torre de Jalisco announced 2 minutes.

He was wrong.

How surprising

Yeah, I read about this yesterday, very odd. As you said, Davino has never had a reputation for going after refs. If the ref did say that, he should lose his job, there is no place for that in sports and shows he has no ability to call a game unbiased. I know brazil has some laws against racism that apply to on field incidents, are homosexual insults also included?

That's a bit extreme. How many times do player say to refs "chinga tu madre" like el temo does every game, and they don't loose their jobs. I agree that if the ref called him a fagg. he should be penalized to some extent, but loosing his job?

A player saying something and a ref doing it are two different things. A referee is in must apply the laws of the game and there is obviously bias if he throws around insults like that. Because bias is perhaps the worst thing a ref can display, he should lose his job.

i too agree. A ref insulting a player is not the same as a player insulting a ref.

player insults a ref > ref books a player for unsportsmanlike conduct (LIKE IT SHOULD BE)

ref insults a player > ?????

Davino is right. A ref can put ANYTHING on the officiating report.

A ref has to have thick skin, not by nature, but by profession. He is suppose to be nuetral and impartial because the profession calls for it
