Manchester United-Charlton over the last game at Highbury.....with CL implications. If it was West Ham-Spurs or even Blackburn-City I guess I could see it, but this is absurd.....

Arsenal - Wigan will air on FSC. Sunday 4pm ET. 6-hour delay.
The Man U game will be live on PPV because there are too many Man U fans in the US who will continue to pay through the nose each week to get their Man U fix.

I don't know about you but I'd rather watch my team play on a 6 hour delay for free than pay $20 to watch them live. Too bad they didn't switch the United-Charlton game for the Arsenal game.

Even worse is that the first delayed game is Newcastle-Chelsea, with zero implications for anything.

That is poor. Arsenal v. Wigan should have been the first delayed game shown followed by West Ham v. Tottenham. Those are the ones that matter.

FSC had to air Newcastle-Chelsea because FOX Sports World Canada had to use the FSC feed in order to get the game.
FSC owes FOX Sports World Canada the 4th choice game on Sunday, after The Score got first pick (Man U-Charlton) and Rogers Sportsnet got the 2nd and 3rd picks (Portsmouth-Liverpool and Arsenal-Wigan).
FSC added a 5th game, West Ham-Tottenham, at 6pm ET.

Actually the result determined whether Newcastle or Bolton got to play in Europe via the Intertoto Cup.
It was a meaningful game.

From the how to sell a game well department, Mark Rohgandino (I think) started out by saying the Portsmouth/Liverpool game was meaningless, even though a Liverpool result could get them 2nd place (depending on the Manchester United result).

We got into Europe. It had huge implications because a tie would have put Bolton into the last spot.
It must be the smog getting in your eyes . . .

He was wrong about it having zero implications but the games involving the teams fighting for 4th and Champions League qualification should take precedence over games involving teams fighting for Intertoto qualification.

LOL, I'm guessing he assumed viewers had watched the live PPV game. I wonder if that was actually true or not. Probably only a minority of viewers.

Since we can discuss results now (though an (R) is pointless if you don't know what the thread is about)...
You might be right. I hadn't, and I wondered if he indeed meant that Manchester United won. I wasn't sure if it was just him being an idiot and not knowing what the game meant, or him being an idiot and spoiling the result.

Color me stunned that Mark Rogindino/Christian Miles/Nick Webster got their facts wrong.
What's next? The sun rising in the East?

Nope, he's an idiot.
