Yes but to see the world you have to also see your own country. My goal is to go to a new place each year. Countries I've been to:

Malaysia
Japan
Hong Kong
UK (England, Wales, Scotland)
Ireland

Nothing as far as I can tell. Everyone was doing countries and then states came up so some people have also done states.
I don't see anyone confusing the two. If you don't want states listed, that's fine, but often threads veer away from the original message.

ok people whats so hard to understand their difference from countries and states?Well, much of the rest of the US perceives Texas as something of a different country and many Texans see California or the Northeast as something of a different country. ;)
So, anyway, if we're doing states, then: CA, WA, AZ, NV, NM, UT, CO, TX, OK, KS, MO, ND, MN, IL, OH, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, NH, VT, ME, MD, DE, DC, VA, NC, GA, AL, MS, LA, and FL.

According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary not much.
Unless being sovereign is a big thing. But what would I know about Sovereignty, I am Puerto Rican.

Of the countries/states you have visited rank the top 3.
Here are mine.
Santa Fe, New Mexico
Oaxaca City, Oaxaca (Mexico)
Pennsylvania (I love Philly) but lived in the Poconos.
Texas is like number 5.
